So you do admit that you dont believe Jesus sacrifice was good enough?
On the contrary, we believe it was SO good that it enables us to contribute to healing the wounds we've inflicted on our selves and others. It was SO good that we can participate not only in being saved but in saving. It was far better than anyone would dare dream.
Christ died for my sins, and you know that all Catholics accept that. What you do not perceive, however, is the damage I did to someone else. I must do that reparation too.
I can’t cop out on my responsibilities. Are you responsible for your sins?
Sin cannot be remitted by any other means. They cannot be paid for by our own suffering if even our own death is insufficient payment for them.
If our sins are forgiven, they are forgiven. God is not going to demand payment for something He's forgiven. Otherwise they haven't been forgiven.
Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. 10He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Micah 7:18-19 18 Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. 19He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
God forgives and forgets. There is no payment necessary when there is no sin credited to our account.
How do you know that you don’t actually meet Jesus until you die? You meet him as your judge, however.
