Do they have a copy of KJB on the planet Kolob? Huh?
I wish they’d leave our Bible alone and accept Jesus as the only God.

OK the Bible wasn’t perfect so Joseph Smith had to make it perfect YET lds say they use the Bible as far as it is translated correctly. So did Joseph Smith fix it or not?

This weekend was General Conference weekend.
On Sunday, a talk on the Book of Morman clearly put the BOM on the same level as the Bible, then talked 10 times more about the BOM.

This weekend was General Conference weekend. On Sunday, a talk on the Book of Morman clearly put the BOM on the same level as the Bible, then talked 10 times more about the BOM.Monson's message was titled "Precious Promises of the Book of Mormon". Oh, and they are building five new temples..."This will bring the number of temples announced or under construction to 31"...The Corporation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints doesn't seem to be cutting back in this time of need for millions of people worldwide.

I wish theyd leave our Bible alone and accept Jesus as the only God.Could you please provide a list of who's authorized to read your Bible.
LDS study and accept the Bible as the inspired word of God. We also accept Jesus Christ as our only Savior and Redeemer. Why can't you be happy for fellow believers? Why the snarkiness?

(1) The LDS followers need to decide if the closed canon of Scripture is ulimately authoritative--the first, foremost, and final word of God on every matter of faith and practice...
--AND--
(2) The LDS followers need to re-evaluate the writings of Joseph Smith and others in light of the Lord's injunctions stated clearly in the OT and NT -- "do not add" & "do not take away".... from God's Word
--AND--
(3) The LDS followers need to decide if they are going to interpret and apply the Bible to their lives, faith, and congregation via historical-grammatical exegesis -- in order to let the text speak for itself -- or will they continue to "prooftext" their particularly unique Christology -- while wearing the interpretative lenses fashioned through the Book of Mormon and other "sacred writings" that have been altered several times through the years...... and likewise appear to be merely commentaries, though exalted higher than the authority of Biblical truths.
There is enough disagreement between essential Biblical truths -- and the conclusions of Mormon "theologians" that merit and open-face comparison.
As those intellectually honest comparisons yield irreconcilable differences -- the choice is presented:
(a) The Mormons have chosen "another Jesus" -- and the backdrop of unique theological context of Jospeh Smith...
(b) Reconsider... Returning to testimony of Scripture weighted on its own merits as the inspired Word of God;
--AND--
(c) Be faithful in the use of interpretive principles of hermeneutics and the literary science of textual criticism, that have served the true Body of Christ from the time of the early church fathers until the preent day.

lds in their articles of faith say the lds accept the Bible as far as it is translated correctly.
lds jesus - created
Biblical Jesus - eternal
lds jesus - not sufficient for salvation IE after all we can do
Biblical Jesus - sufficient
lds jesus - paid the price in the garden
Biblical Jesus - paid the price on the Cross
lds jesus - needs secret ceremonies and rituals and temples
Biblical Jesus - tore the temple vale from top to bottom, no more secrets
lds jesus - brother of satan
Biblical Jesus - not the brother of satan
lds - can become god
lds multiple gods
lds - celestial marriage
So O when you say jesus is your savior, which jesus do you speak of?
The Biblical Jesus or the lds jesus, they are not the same.
If you are speaking of the Biblical Jesus then why are you lds?

The Corporation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints doesn't seem to be cutting back in this time of need for millions of people worldwide. What could be more important for those millions of people in need than the message of Jesus Christ and his atonement? You really want us to "cut back" when the world needs His message more than ever?

After reading another thread, I went and read D&C 132 in its entirety - from the LDS site.
My jaw simply dropped to the floor. How convenient that Joseph Smith received instructions from God that his wife Emma (named specifically, see 132: 61- 65) should accept polygamy.
The more I read about Mormonism the more I am coming to believe that it is based upon the teachings of a man that really enjoyed spreading his seed around, under the guise of spiritual authority.
And “but they’re so nice!” just doesn’t cut it for may any more. Even the Devil can act “nice” while asking for your soul.

I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer. There is no need for me to choose between the "LDS" and the "Biblical" Jesus because they are one and the same.
Your list of "differences" simply displays a profound lack of understanding of what we LDS really believe. If you're going to spend time discussing the LDS religion, you should find out what we believe instead of continuing to spread misinformation.

The King James Bible is a mix of fantasy, folklore and out and out manipulation of the real gospel of Jesus Christ.
Like celebrating rape and murder, why would we want to celebrate 400 years of fiction??

Of course, that would mean you would actually want to learn something about Mormonism. Bad-mouthing someone else's religion without bothering to learn anything about it is so much more fun, though

I stated: lds in their articles of faith say the lds accept the Bible as far as it is translated correctly.
You stated that was incorrect.
LDS ARTICLES OF FAITH #8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

You stated that was incorrect.I said no such thing. I said you have a profound lack of understanding of what the LDS believe. I stand by that statement.
So what you are saying that you're just fine with incorrect translations of the Bible?
