I am thrilled and honored to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a devout Christian.
I am a husband and father. I was raised in a family of 14 children (9 boys and 5 girls, all from the same parents). I'm the 9th child. I love people. I love to serve and give. I stay active physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. I am an attorney. I also have an MBA and am a certified management accountant.
The fundamental reason for which I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is because the Holy Ghost has indicated to me in many undeniable ways that the church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth with all the attendant teachings, truth, authority, rites, ordinances, and structure.
Thankfully, I repeatedly feel and sense this same personal revelation over and over and over.
As 1 Corinthians 2 teaches us, there two primary ways of learning: one of man and the other of God. In short, I joined the Church solely because God has told me to do so.
I strive to "be" my faith. My faith is who I am (or strive to be).
I daily study holy writ and pray to my Heavenly Father. I do so personally and with my family. I have weekly family home evenings with my immediate family where we talk about holy matters and how to improve our lives.
I love my fellowmen. I strive to show this love in a customer-focused, kind, and service-oriented manner of carrying out my employment. I try to the same while volunteering in church and community activities and assignments. It truly is a joy to serve others.
I attend church meetings on Sundays. I also attend various activities during the week to support and uplift the youth in my area. I attend various training sessions and other ad hoc events.
I attend the temples of God regularly to renew divine covenants and renew my marital vows.
I also volunteer in various capacities with the Boy Scouts of America to bless the lives of the young boys in my congregation. The Church has adopted the BSA program as a vehicle for exceptional training and development of youth. I fully support this adoption.
And johngrace mormons also believe that heavenly father - a god separate from Jesus, also spent time in the flesh before progressing to godhood and eventually procreating with one of his goddess wives the spirit child Jesus.

Which makes the LDS ‘god’ not eternal and also a sinner. Don’t forget ‘zilla they also had Lucifer right after Jesus.
And, of course, we can source those teachings from LDS apostles and prophets.
Hi Reaganaut,
We do believe in the Christ of the Bible — He is the only Christ. The Book of Mormon is another testament of that very same Jesus Christ. He ministered to a nation of believers in a different geographic location who kept records of His teachings and revelations. Latter Day Saints believe in scripture additional to the Bible — but that doesn’t mean we reject the Bible. On the contrary.
Best,
Normandy
In word only, not in reality.
He ministered to a nation of believers in a different geographic location who kept records of His teachings and revelations.
A fictional account at best - poorly written plagiarism in reality. Where is the evidence Norm? Not even mormons agree where this occurred - and those mormon 'archaeologists' who make claims are almost always associated with ufos.
but that doesnt mean we reject the Bible.
Except you have to caveat its use don't you and claim its plain and precious parts have been removed.
Thank you; I have many Mormon friends and acquaintances in the local GOP/ They are wonderful to work with; dedicated to their families and their country.
It galls me that people can be so venomous because they do not agree with one’s religious beliefs.
No Norm, it isn’t and they aren’t. If there was only ONE Christ like you claim then we wouldn’t have been warned about FALSE Christs.
The Christ of the Bible isn’t created, was always God, was never married, and wasn’t conceived by sex between God and Mary. The Christ of the Bible isn’t a mass murderer who brags about killing the unrighteous (as the Mormon Jesus did in 3 Nephi). That is the LDS “Christ”. Even your own prophets state you don’t believe in the same Christ as Christians.
The LDS only accept the Bible ‘as far as it is translated correctly’ you left that out. They denigrate the Bible that way. I can give you quotes where your leaders totally trash the Bible. Just the fact that you claim the NEED for additional scripture denigrates the Bible.
However, thanks for giving more examples about how the LDS lie and twist things to make ‘the Church’ look good.
It galls me that people can be so venomous because they do not agree with ones religious beliefs.

Are you a Christian? If so then you should believe in the great commission. This isn’t about simple ‘disagreement’ this about getting people out of an evil cult. No one here hates Mormons, but we hate Mormonism and the damage and lies the LDS church tells its members and outsiders.
BTW, I used to be Mormon. Being a nice person doesn’t make you right with God. Also those ‘nice people’ are most likely lying to you about their beliefs. Been there done that.
They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon. He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood. As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.Who has made this so?Have I?Have this people?Have the world? No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph. If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass. Can you pass without his inspection? No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times. In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet. They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent? They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?

In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet, for our salvation depends on them.
1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say Thus Saith the Lord, to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by mens reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidencythe highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidencythe living prophet and the First Presidencyfollow them and be blessedreject them and suffer.
I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captainhow close do our lives harmonize with the Lords anointedthe living ProphetPresident of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

So?
What about all the OTHER things that MORMONs 'believe'?
They did a mighty poor job, for no EVIDENCE of them can be found of them ANYWHERE!
Yeah; but what can you do?
52,000 +/- of the little minions pounding on doors all day long. You'd think their poison pits would run dry!
You’re very welcome.
Ephesians 6:4 (NIV)
Fathers, do not exasperate your children;
instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Of the Lord; not the MORMON Religious Organization.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
Anyway, they have already taken it upon themselves to condemn me and every other member of my Church to hell. Saundra Duffy
I agree.
