One often doubts prophecies; hence the "discernment" notice. This prophecy is circulating around the internet. A poster on a different blog forum, seriously questioned the veracity of the prophecy and did some research. Here is their post:
WHEN THE OIL FLOWS
An elder in the Pentecostal Church at Moss, Norway, Martin Andersen,heard the following prophecy in 1937, in Moss:
‘When oil comes out of the North Sea and along the Norwegian coast,things will begin to happen, and the return of Jesus is approaching.’
When these words had been proclaimed, people stood up in the
congregation and asked the man to sit down and not speak suchnonsense. In 1937 it was indeed nonsense to talk about oil beingpumped along the Norwegian coast. Today all the world’s big oil companies are pumping oil along the coast of Norway. Norway is the world’s second greatest exporter of oil - after Saudi Arabia.
The sum of it all is: Jesus is coming soon (suddenly).
Original source editor’s note: The above account was originally transmitted from Israel to friends in the US. It was sent by a Norwegian Christian worker by the name of Ragna Von Porat.
Ragna states in a footnote that it was translated from Danish. She further states that Emanuel Minos, the evangelist mentioned in the account,was her friend’s closest neighbor in Oslo. She says, "I heard him in
my young days. My parents knew him."
Because of my fear of transmitting false prophecy, I have diligentlyinquired concerning the information in this letter. Publication has been delayed until permission could be secured from Ragna in Israel.
In my contact with her, she has assured me that these accounts are true and reliable. In fact, she relates that the first account has already been published in one of Norway’s Christian newspapers.
I have found in my own research that the first account was also published by the Christian Information Service in Germany.

of Dr. Emanuel Minos is active today and can be accessed for
verification. Although the language on this site is Norwegian, the very similar story of the woman and her vision is posted there in English. The above accounts are transmitted just as they werereceived.
Ragna took it upon herself to verify as much of the above informationas she could. In contacting the Embassy of Norway she learned that Norway has now dropped to the world’s third largest oil exporter.
Ragna states, "I certainly have no objection to your going ahead [withpublishing]. It must be now-if ever."

Incredibly generic prediction, I see this as basically silly, of course things will be bad before He returns. YAWN ...
Whether these writers were on to something or not, you would have to have your head stuck in the sand not to see that something has been set in motion over the last ten years or so.

certainly this could have been created recently,
and backdated to 1968.
but i find the details like the phrasing “live together”, etc., sounds believable.
if it really was written in 1968, then the “many stations”,
people coming from “poor countries”, etc. is interesting.
and the many mega-churches preaching about praying for wealth and financial gain:
“Christians will not be open for penetrating preaching. They will not, like in earlier times, want to hear of sin and grace, law and gospel, repentance and restoration. There will come a substitute instead: prosperity (happiness) Christianity.”

Prophecy often has multiple interpretations, and its validity is generally related to the prophet or purported prophet’s spiritual purity. She may have received from God a vision which was true, and overlaid it with her own fears and flaws. This case is also illustrating why prophets tend to be despised at the time of their prophecies - it’s not easy to understand what’s seen when what doesn’t exist yet is only imperfectly related to what does exist at the time and is in general understanding of the time.
Certainly prayer now would be helpful.
Also, for those interested, have a look online for Siener van Rensburg. The first word is a title, ‘Seer’, not his name. He was a South African, Afrikaner and Boer, who learned to read from the Bible (taught at home). And that is supposed to have been the only book he ever read. He didn’t at the time - the Boer War - have great reasons to be optimistic about the future of his people, and of the developed world in general, but the resolution in his prophecy was more optimistic, if I recall correctly.
It smells fishy. It reads like someone sat down and wrote a short summary of the spiritual history of the last 40-50 years and presented it as prophecy. I wonder if there is any documentation that proves the prophecy was actually given in 1968. I mean documentary evidence.

This happen on New Year's Eve Day night going into 2009 year from 2008 year. The end of this dream was Obama in a field with a handful of secret service standing next to the presidential limo. It was green grass field. The grass was well cut not long with trees behind him. It is an open field. He looks up then meets my eyes at me then I look up and the sky is filled with an invading army parachuting above us coming to the ground. The army is in green army camouflage not desert camouflage. They all looked light skin not dark. But before they landed I woke up. This happen after the the lights went out at about a 8:00est. So I put lighted candles up. I stayed up till 1040 then went to bed. The electric lights never came back on till later. This is right before Obama was sworn in as president in the new January. So I went to bed early with the candle burning in my bedroom. When the dream ended. It was so profound I woke up right away to candle light. Then suddenly the power came back on with the lights like to accent this was an important dream. Just uncanny! Everything up to the field show the former america is gone in industrial might. I was in a old rusted model T watching the parade for Obama then turning into fighting among the paraders. Hitting each other with the Obama signs.
I know this might sound crazy! I could not really see the faces clearly but I woke up before real clearity came into view. Not that this is in the dream but a reason for what I thought I believe because Obama is viewed as weak by the world. I think China and Russia will knock America out of the world power business. They are doing joint operations together all the time. If we are out of the way they can divide the world to there own end. Also the Chinese have so many people they are so arrogant from what I read they hate there population. I know I sound movie ish but I know my personal ( about friends or family)visions came true. One to the exact broadcast of a drive by shooting several months before it happen. Same channel 12 in long island NY. Same town reported. Same female broadcaster. Same person(a friend's daughter as the victim). How can that not be God if comes exactly true. All these dreams are after a Divine Mercy Chaplet Prayer. That was heavy prayer for her soul.
I feel I have to remind people. So when this happened of all nights for a New Year’s eve night(2008/2009) before a new president getting in office. Then accented when I woke up. Too much of a coincide .
Sounds like she watched some American movies or read tracts; common themes.
