You know I had 2 semesters of Hebrew years ago

I found it easy because it was like Pitman’s shorthand i learned in high school

and the concept was in a way the same

You learn the constanants and the dots etc for the vowels

and then you can just leave off the vowels for every day words that you recognize without the additions

if you follow my meaning..

And why would hebrews have written in a language that was not only not spoken or written in their time

But was a language of a pagan people who had enslaved them would not let them go

and did not respect their God or allow them to worship Him ???

It would be like the Moslems taking over the US Sharia Law and all and we decide that we will write it all down for future civilizations in “Reformed Persian” or Farsi instead of English

How good is your Farsi ???

Pitman is a good analogy and you are right, once you start to learn the roots, then you tend to ignore the vowels. One of our finals was text without vowels, we had to recognize the forms and determine meaning from context.

And my Farsi sucks.
