Norm,

What you claim is proof of the Holy Spirit, isn’t. Your ‘proof’ is all ‘me me me me” and your works. If it were really the Holy Spirit, rather than a demon, there would be two big differences, it wouldn’t testify of teachings that counter the Bible (which Mormonism does) or a false Christ (which the LDS believe in) and your ‘testimony’ wouldn’t be ‘me me me me” it would be “Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus”.

So, again we ask you how do you KNOW it is the actual Holy Spirit and not a demon?

The spirit that let me to Mormonism testifies to me of the reality and divinity of Jesus Christ
________________________________________________

See Norm ???

That statement right there is a contradiction against mormon beliefs and doctrines

1. Mormons believe that their Mormon jesus was just a man

2. Mormons dont believe that their mormon jesus was or is divine..until he “worked” and earned” it anyway..

3. The spirit that “talks” to Mormons denies the Trinity...

4. The spirit that “talks” to Mormons denies that their mormon jesus is God...

5. So you hear voices ???

6. This spirit that lead you...where did ya’ll go ???

7. This spirit that lead ya...what did it look loike ???

8. This spirit that lead ya...did ya get to shake its hand and check for bones ???

9. No ??? But Joey Smith said that was the way to tell...

10. No sustaining...no temple recommend for you...

“I enjoyed the article. I wouldn’t have become a Mormon, without the influence of the Holy Spirit. And God continues to guide me and testify of truth through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

And someday maybe you will find the truth and the truth will set you free.

Does this mean that I can't be Mormon?

No. It merely means if you EAT the stuff when it AIN'T cold or a FAMINE; you'll be like 99% of MORMONs: failing to OBEY their GOD.

What the CONSEQUENCES will be for them; I shudder to think!

I know through personal experience, a knowledge that I can’t transmit to you or anyone else.

And besides,

Does a demon testify that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Did a demon persuade me to put my trust in Jesus Christ for my salvation? Does a demon influence me to repent of my sins? Does a demon inspire me to try and help and serve and uplift my fellow men and women? Would a demon influence me to try and live according to the teachings of Jesus?

Best to you,

Normandy

And I know through personal experience that it isnt’ the Holy Ghost. Further, the Holy Ghost wouldn’t testify to things against the Bible and LDS teaching is contrary to the Bible.

Having had an LDS testimony, and having believed it was the HOly Ghost, then actually HAVING the Holy Ghost, after I believed in Christ for my salvation by grace alone, I testify to you that what you are feeling is a very cheap counterfeit.

Regarding your questions, yes it would, especially if it keeps you in a false church, believe in a false Christ, and rely on works rather than grace. A demon would rejoice in keeping you from a true knowledge of the Grace of Christ.

The LDS don’t live the teachings of Jesus, they live the teachings of Joseph Smith.

Norm,
A demon will use a variety of ways to dissuade or confuse. The 10% rule is one that could be applied here. If the demon “persuades” you to follow the teachings of JS, et al, then he’s successful in that you are chasing down rabbit trails while at the same time missing the simpler and finer points of God’s grace. Ignoring the clear and simple gospel contained in the Bible.

A demon will do that. C.S. Lewis put it quite succinctly in the Screwtape Letters. A little bit of truth mixed in with a little bit of falsehood makes for a bitter recipe.

The BoM is a compilation of errors and deceptions designed to confuse and dissuade. It is replete with errors, lack of historical or archaeological evidence, or even the so-called “fullness of the gospel”, not including the lack of discussion or evidences of the temple ordinances.

The Christian God doesn’t hide His love or the requirements of salvation from His children as mormonism does (via the necessity of a temple recommend in order to attain celestial glory).

Blessings,
SZ

Yes of course. The devil played marbles with Jesus in Heaven. Satan knows who He is better than any of us...

Did a demon persuade me to put my trust in the mormon jesus for my salvation?

Why not ??? Thats happened to millions of other mormons...whats so special about you ???

Does a demon influence me to repent of my sins?

Is that what happened ??? You dont know ??

Does a demon inspire me to try and help and serve and uplift my fellow men and women?

Now that works thingy sounds a lot like demons...totally against the Bible the way the mormons do it...

Would a demon influence me to try and live according to the teachings of Joey Smith ? (the mormon jesus doesnt have any teachings)

It worked didnt it ???

__ - - - - - - - - — - - -

And it could only be a demon who would testify that Jesus Christ was the literal physical Son of God who was conceived by sex between a God with a physical body and Mary rather than conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost.

I know through personal experience, a knowledge that I can’t transmit to you or anyone else.

Joseph Smith had a TEST to KNOW if a message came from GOD:

 Doctrine and Covenants       Section 129

Instructions given by Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Nauvoo, Illinois, 9 February 1843, making known three grand keys by which the correct nature of ministering angels and spirits may be distinguished (see History of the Church, 5:267).

1–3, There are both resurrected and spirit bodies in heaven; 4–9, Keys are given whereby messengers from beyond the veil may be identified.
1 There are two kinds of beings in heaven, namely: Angels, who are resurrected personages, having bodies of flesh and bones;
2 For instance, Jesus said: Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
3 Secondly: the spirits of just men made perfect, they who are not resurrected, but inherit the same glory.
4 When a messenger comes saying he has a message from God, offer him your hand and request him to shake hands with you.
5 If he be an angel he will do so, and you will feel his hand.
6 If he be the spirit of a just man made perfect he will come in his glory; for that is the only way he can appear;
7 Ask him to shake hands with you, but he will not move, because it is contrary to the order of heaven for a just man to deceive; but he will still deliver his message.
8 If it be the devil as an angel of light, when you ask him to shake hands he will offer you his hand, and you will not feel anything; you may therefore detect him.
9 These are three grand keys whereby you may know whether any administration is from God.

Well; SOME of them.

Does NORM eat meat in the summertime?

Does NORM wash his body with strong drink?

Does NORM wear the garment in accordance with convenants made in the temple?

Does NORM refer to the things of LDS that sound similar to bible teachings and omit the vast number of things that don't?

What!?

I have it on GOOD authority (statue in Temple Square MUST contain the truth; right?) that the BoM DOES 'contain the fullness...'

Looky HERE!!

See!

In BIG letters it says "THE BOOK OF MORMON"

And under there it says "...contains the fullness..."

I'll bet that NORM can point us to the EXACT scriptures in the BoM where it can be found!

But a SKEPTIC might ask:

"If the BoM DOES 'contain the fullness'; just WHY does the MORMON religious organization claim all those OTHER things to be scripture, too?"

Acts 16:16-17

It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling.
Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, “These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.”

Acts 19:13-15

13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16

Hi there, SZ

A much as I like you and appreciate your concern, I have to disagree with you. I have the witness of the Spirit that Joseph Smith was a servant of Jesus Christ — an instrument used by God to reveal His will. I find the Book of Mormon to be a wonderful complement to the Bible — a second witness of the divinity and reality of Jesus Christ.

Best regards,

Normandy.

Good morning Norm,

In reference to your comment; "I have the witness of the Spirit that Joseph Smith was a servant of Jesus Christ."

I'm sorry I have to disagree with that statement. JS was in no way a servant of Jesus. Not even close. History has proven that out.

“I know through personal experience, a knowledge that I can’t transmit to you or anyone else.”

... Exactly. You DO NOT “KNOW” OBJECTIVELY. You feel it is true - apart from objective confirmation.

“Does a demon testify that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?”

... Sure, once he has convinced you that “Jesus Christ, Son of God” is the fake mormon Jesus that cannot save or redeem - a creature and not eternally God. Deception. You bought it.

“Did a demon persuade me to put my trust in Jesus Christ for my salvation?”

... Again, false Christ. False path of salvation. False gospel of works. Exactly opposite of what can save. Of course a demon would like to persuade you to trust a false Christ!

“Does a demon influence me to repent of my sins?”

... Sure. You are all worried about your sins and are swallowing the largest sin of all - pride of self effort and worthiness. Again, wrong Gospel.

“Does a demon inspire me to try and help and serve and uplift my fellow men and women?”

... Sure. A demon would love for you to spend your whole life proving your worthiness and in the end stand before God and hear Him say, “Depart from me! I never knew you. You rejected my Gospel of Grace and claimed your own worthiness.”

“Would a demon influence me to try and live according to the teachings of Jesus?”

... Sure. A demon would love to see you so wrapped up in your works of righteousness - which God calls “filthy rags” - that you don’t notice the real Gospel.

Normandy, the one piece of truth you miss is the Gospel of Grace of the real Jesus Christ. Without it, none of that matters. It’s nice, sure. It will ensure a trip to hell. I’d like to see better for you and all mormons.
