Are you of the opinion that a Mormon should never be elected President?
Yes, it is my opinion that an indoctrinated Mormon should never be elected as President of the United States of America. Indoctrinated temple Mormons (as Romney is) have experienced years of brainwashing and indoctrination and also have made covenants and oaths that they plainly cannot disobey.
Mitt Romney and all temple Mormons have sworn to obey The Law of Consecrationin the secret temple ceremonies which states "You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at the altar, the you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in The Doctrine and Covenants (a Mormon book), in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, an everything with which the Lord has bless you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church), for the building up of the Kingdom of God on earth and for the establishment of Zion."
Ex-Mormon Ed Decker reveals the penalty for disobedience that was made by Mitt Romney (and all temple Mormons) at the time he took out his temple endowments: The "execution of the penalty" for disobedience was demonstrated "by placing the thumb under the left ear, the palm of the hand down, and by drawing the thumb quickly across the throat to the right ear, and dropping the hand to the side."

I exercise mine too much to have cancer. :) If you ever get the chance, go to Montreal. It is an awesome city. In the summer, with the sidewalk cafes, it is one of the best places to be.
Oh really? From your posting history HERE, it appears that you have done more scolding and accusing others than giving opinions on the article.
Any honest hearted reader can see that, and Im content to let them judge between us on the basis of what is already posted here.
We are content to let any "honest hearted reader" judge who is posting facts backed up by sources.
You probably think youve exposed something about my faith, but really all youve done is give everybody a little look into your heart, and it isnt a pretty sight. Thats all I wanted to accomplish here.
It sure seems that the "exposure" here is summarized in your comment regarding the hearts of others and your feeling of "accomplishment" in demonizing those who refuse to allow the daily proselytizing worldwide of mormonism to continue unanswered.
When the relentless campaign of the mormon church, in 52,000 missionaries lying to others about the way to salvation, the multi-million dollar TV and radio ads and thousands of internet sites doing the same are ended, THEN and only then can mormons compare their hearts to the hearts of Christians.
...and GOD is the judge of our hearts, NOT someone who follows the charlatan Smith.
giving a fair hearing to anything I have to say.
I would be willing to give a fair hearing to anything posted. But, remember Grig, I used to be Mormon, I know all the pat answers, I even used to give them myself. I was once where you are, happy being LDS, hateful of the 'antis', accused them of lying without checking out their statements, refused to debate, fell back on my testimony.
But something a professor of mine (before I was LDS) said stuck in the back of my mind - "A faith that can not be defended is a faith that is not worth having." With that in mind, I sought out to prove the antis wrong and ended up realizing that Mormonism cannot be defended, so it is not a faith worth having.
Ive stated my opinion on the ideas in the article and my reasons for those opinions.
You have called names and stated opinions, but none of those opinions have been backed up by a single fact.
Any honest hearted reader can see that, and Im content to let them judge between us on the basis of what is already posted here.
As Grey said, we are more than happy to let an honest hearted reader judge the FACTS we post about Mormonism. And the fact that no Mormon ever can defend their faith, they come out of the gate with name calling.
You probably think youve exposed something about my faith, but really all youve done is give everybody a little look into your heart, and it isnt a pretty sight.
Grig, we KNOW we have exposed much about LDS teachings on these threads, using their own sources. And I pray my heart has been exposed, and it is a beautiful sight, because my heart is full of Christ and love for the lost, love for Mormons. My heart leads me to do what God has called me to do, expose the darkness of Mormonism and replace it with the Light of Christ.
Thats all I wanted to accomplish here.
And you have failed in that. What you have accomplished however, is showing the lurkers how self-righteous the LDS are, how there is NO intellectual defense of Mormonism, there is no BIBLICAL defense of Mormonism. What you have exposed is how the LDS can't defend their religion, they just resort to name calling rather than actually debating.
Mormonism makes its followers feel good, like they are 'doing their part' to pay back Christ, that they are paying their fair share with tithing, that they are working towards Godhood, just like "Heavenly Father" did.
John 8:44-47 is the perfect description of the LDS - You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your fathers desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why dont you believe me? 47He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.
Can you prove I am lying? No, you just resort to name calling then a superior attitude. You cannot hear because you do not belong to God, but to your father the Devil. Satan is the author and finisher of the Mormon faith and that is fully proven by the temple ordinances (you put on an apron that symbolizes Lucifer's priesthood), the false Christ, the works required, the occult symbols and teachings.
My heart breaks for Mormons. I want nothing more than to see them brought out of spiritual darkness and into the Light of Christ.
Words such as "false" "wrong" "error" do not attribute motive.
Also, do not make this thread "about" individual Freepers because that is also "making it personal."
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
gotcha
Dang!
Iff’n y’all can’t make it personal; I’ll just leave the thread!
There it is. The subconscious Mormon self-assessment - I am a god in the making. I am perfectly justified in passing judgement on all you inferior beings.
If I was the Lord ...

delacoert, when I was expressing my personal feeling it was the natural man speaking!
BTW mindreading seems to be alive and well on FR and what you accused me of had nothing to do with my natural man side
thank you anyway for bring that to my attention for that statement reminds me that I was expressing my will and not in accord with the Lord’s will.
The flip side of this coin is that one of the major proponents (Ashton) of NHM is also a major ufologist. Well, I guess if you believe in mormonism, then other outrageous beliefs are possible too.

I’m not surprised. In professional circles book of Mormon ‘archeology’ is classified the same as Atlantian and Alien archeology - ie psuedo archeology.
One of the fun things to do, is go to the AIA meso-American meeting and ask some of the scholars about Nephite Archeology. I’ve never done it, but I did persuade one of my colleagues to do it.
That would be a hoot...
Lets take this up another notch shall we. IF this is the only "true" artifact mormon 'archaeologists' (when not chasing ET), then the bom is in deeper trouble than one can imagine. 1000 years of a metallurgically advanced civilization, covering the area from sea to sea, numbering in the millions upon millions, have left ABSOLUTELY NO other artifacts. In a continent that was supposed to be empty for nephite occupation (historical mormon teaching/doctrines), the amerindians were supposed to be descended from these jews and middle easterners. Now with the 'title' change to "some" of the indians - even "some" of the indians - NONE have middle eastern dna markers.
Just have grig wake me when the nephite exhibit opens at the Smithsonian please.
I'm sure that works out to be one of the The Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

It reminds me of some fringe Creationists (and I am a Creationist) who think dinosaurs didn’t exist and God put dinosaur bones in the earth to test our faith.
Maybe they were neat freaks like Felix Unger, and tidied up after themselves.

Maybe they tidied up their genetic markers as well.

Ping to post.
Ah, the source of mormon apologetics -
“I try to think, but nothin’ happens. . yuck yuck yuck”
Thank you for the link Resty. While there, I found this video. Although much longer, it’s quite an informative and factual rebuttal of the one you posted.

I am not able to read your mind, Resty; so you'll just have to tell us: do YOU keep the Word of Wisdom?
Do YOU eat meat in the summertime?
