Interesting . . .
An RC “Christian” violating forum rules about potty language
accusing the Bible of being . . .
for talking about Jesus’ brothers and sisters in QUITE A NUMBER OF PLACES.
Sounds like noses of certain odors smell together.
What Would Mary Tell Jesus To Do? RCs are waiting with baited breath for the answer...
So how did you determine that your own personal interpretation is inerrant and infallible? Is this a gift given exclusively to you? Can anyone infallibly interpret Scripture or do you just have to take an interpretation contrary to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church?
"And Mary IS NOT Jesus..."
Show me one place where the Church ever made a claim that she was. And Mary IS NOT Jesus"
Methinks that Jesus’ brothers and sisters . . . following after the truism that a prophet is without honor in his own region . . .
were rather late coming to the party.
I suspect it took the Resurrection on top of all the building pile of miracles to convince them.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
There was a fair amount of incredulity described, so that’s a fair assumption. Who is this? Is this not the carpenter’s son? And so forth.
My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden,
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm:
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich He has sent empty away.
He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy;
As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to His posterity forever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
Magníficat ánima mea Dóminum,

Ecce enim ex hoc beátam

quia fecit mihi magna,
qui potens est,
et sanctum nomen eius,

et progénies timéntibus eum.
Fecit poténtiam in bráchio suo,
dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui;
depósuit poténtes de sede

Esuriéntes implévit bonis

Suscépit Ísrael púerum suum,

Glória Patri et Fílio

She became the Mother of God, in which work so many and such great good things are bestowed on her as pass man’s understanding. For on this there follows all honor, all blessedness, and her unique place in the whole of mankind, among which she has no equal, namely, that she had a child by the Father in heaven, and such a Child . . . Hence men have crowded all her glory into a single word, calling her the Mother of God . . . None can say of her nor announce to her greater things, even though he had as many tongues as the earth possesses flowers and blades of grass: the sky, stars; and the sea, grains of sand. It needs to be pondered in the heart what it means to be the Mother of God.
(Commentary on the Magnificat, 1521; in Luther’s Works, Pelikan et al, vol. 21, 326)
Indeed.
That’s my perspective on the matter.
It seems that the Bible is reasonably clear without giving a realtively minor issue major treatment.
Really?
Same kind of way of answering when discussing something with a communist/socialist/liberal/progressive...They have NO answer and they lost the argument!! So they spin, and spin, and spin, and spin and talk nonsense!!
You have never read the Old Testament story about the man falling over dead when he touched the Ark of the Old Covenant?
Too bad.
What do you know about typology?

I think you err in this respect. They moved outside Scripture to create these heresies (ever virgin and immaculate conception) and in doing so decided that tradition and their power of interpretation (their magisterium) are equals of Scripture. Moving away from Scripture as the rule of the faith has led them to preach a different gospel in which God is dependent upon their cooperation in His plan of salvation.
Now they worship Mary and bow down to idols of her.
On the contrary, I gave you quite the concrete, specific answer. James, brother of Jesus, so described in the Bible itself. Jude, brother of James, so described in the Bible itself. Book of James. Book of Jude.
It just appears to me, that you have a rather excessively negative reaction to this statement of fact, to the point of violating forum rules. You might want to check that tendency. There are ways to disagree that don’t violate them.
Actually, we ask Mary to pray for us sinners.
There are a number of definitions that one must accept to fully understand what Catholics mean when they say something. Many Protestants believe that "Pray" means only to worship. Websters dictionary says it means: (1) To utter petition to God ... (2) To make a fervent request: PLEAD (3) To beseech: implore (4) to make a devout or earnest request for.
Catholics do not believe that heaven is populated by the dead. We believe that those already in heaven are very much alive and are able to hear our intentions.
We also believe that of all of the saints in Heaven Mary hold a special place because, as we are told in Luke 1:30, Mary was favored by God and was blessed among women (Luke 1:42).
still sounds like worship to me,and sounds like you think Mary holds special status sounds like co-redeemer,,
When Jesus himself spoke of the rich man and poor man,,one being in hell one being in paradise,Abraham himself said that there was nothing anyone in heaven could do to help sinners in hell or even sinners on earth, that they needed to get help from scripture before they died.So again,,Im not trying to be argumentave, just asking why you feel Mary can contradict what Jesus Himself said?
I'm sorry you feel that way, but that will not affect the Catholic doctrines.
Im looking for scriptural basis for these beliefs, not doctrines.Doctrines once said the earth was flat and the sun revolved around the earth, doctrines once created the inquisition.where are the scriptures to back this up?
