Move over Sarah Palin. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) is stealing your thunder. (And I dont mean Rolling Thunder.)
At this weekends Faith and Freedom Conference in Washington, Bachmann brought the house down. In a crowd of devoted religious conservatives, Bachmann hit all the right buttons and had the crowd screaming, clapping and on their feet.
While Palin was on her private vacation bus tour (in fact, her 10 year old Piper said to a reporter, Thanks for ruining our vacation.) Bachmann was looking and talking like a serious candidate for the presidency. Every Republican presidential hopeful and most Republican political leaders showed up at the conference, organized by Ralph Reed, the former head of the Christian Coalition.
Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Herman Cain and Bachmann addressed the gathering. Newt Gingrich sent a video as he was on vacation. House Speaker John Boehner and Rep. Eric Cantor were there. Even The Donald couldnt resist a cameo appearance. Palin, who was invited, was the only no-show.
Big mistake, Sarah. You should have been there. You just kissed off your base.
Now I know that Palin and Bachmann say they are friends. They have to. And they say they dont see any competition from each other. But if Palin really is considering a run she is going to be in for a shock, because from the point of view of the very religious Christian right, Bachmann beats Palin in every category: Family values? Both have large biological families, but Bachmann has also 23 foster children.
Right to life? Palin is anti-abortion and calls it murder. Yet she was lauded for her honesty in admitting she actually considered the procedure when she was pregnant with her last child, a Downs Syndrome baby....

Bachmann’s done. Suicide by campaign manager.
true.
Obama should be plenty of target for true conservatives to attack.
but Bachmann is cooperating with the libs at the Post.
and violating Reagan’s 11th commandment.
Bachmann hired Rollins, knowing that he said this about Palin, last year.

Well, Jesus did tell Judas “what you do, do quickly.” (John 13:27). So I guess backstabber Bachmann is quickly doing those things that is necessary against Palin
This is the MSM encouraging political fighting among two conservative women candidates for ‘12 POTUS, so that the eventual winner on the GOP side will be a RINO. The MSM will, always, discourage conservatism while, also, encouraging RINO politics, during each and every GOP Presidential Primary season. The MSM will, always, choose the most electable leftist candidate running for POTUS, during each and every general election that, also, involves choosing a President.
I am torn between Bachmann and Cain. That is the “showdown” for me. Of course, by the time Vermont gets to vote, there may be no such choice left.
Or is she just reveling in a Cold War feud, fabricated and stoked by the GOP establishment, between two conservative women whom neither haven't declared their presidential runs.
There's no comparison between Bachmann and Palin. It is the equivalent of comparing a .22 with the B-52 Flying Fortress.
I read the article, Sally Quinn has found a woman that she (temporarily) approves of, and after three years of attacking Palin, it still isn’t Palin.
You can put these two together, multiply their accomplishments and executive experience times 100 and they still don’t measure up to Governor Palin.
This personality and fan club type my girl versus your girl thinking is dangerous to the cause. I don’t care about the personal fortunes of Palin, Bachmann, etc., etc., etc. I just want a somebody elected who’ll end Roe v Wade and the legalized death industry.
Who has more chance of doing those types of things? A back-bencher in congress or a governor, author of our 2010 success, an energy commission chair and mayor who got bills passed? Think on that.
Cain’s been doing well. Bachmann’s funds will dry up well before Ames if she has another day like today though.
What Sally Quinn has absolutely no grasp of is how the Holy Spirit works. She’s attempting to spark a fight (I almost said catfight) about who is the most Holy deserving candidate which good evangelicals must then vote for in lockstep.
God chooses agents, leaders and warriors- He chose some no one else would have. Samson comes to mind, Rahab, and of course David.
She thinks she has some kind of plausible deniability. But all she is doing is being a tool for the RINOs and the establishment.
Bachmann has brought in hit man Ed Rollins to attack Palin, this is a serious boost for the Romney campaign, which by the way was the reason that Quinn wrote this antiPalin piece.
I like Michele Bachmann, but I'd pick Sarah before her. Now, she may have dug her own grave with this latest stunt with Ed Rollins trashing Sarah. Perhaps things will pan out. We shall see.
This is getting downright comical... all the glowing Establishment press that Bachmann (whom they’ve always hated almost as much as Palin) is getting. And now, from Sally Quinn? I mean, good grief! Sally Quinn?!? Can it be any more transparent that this is nothing more than a massive, highly-calculated attempt to derail Palin?
And, as I already mentioned in a previous thread, I’ve really lost all respect for Bachmann due to her hiring of that scumbag Ed Rollins. I don’t know whether Bachmann is going along with this for a big payoff from the GOP bigwigs, or is perhaps a clueless stooge. But whatever the case, it sure makes her look absolutely awful.
God, I so did not want this to become a media driven issue...ignore and choose the best gang, please...I know will but my opinions may vary from yours...yet I will still respect you if that choice differs from mine over these two fine conservatives. Let them both present their best. I would marry, errrrrrr, mean vote for either.
MB had better hope that previous contributors (like me) don’t start demanding refunds.
Ed’s check might bounce.
