>>Latin mass without translation is speaking in tongues and strictly FORBIDDEN. <<
I don’t see how that follows. “Speaking in Tongues” is a (frequently misunderstood) reference to gifts from God (teaching is one of the greatest).
If you are talking about the Church’s objection to “Charismatic” movements (which are appalling), that is an entirely different matter.
Or you were joking and I missed it...
Nonsense.
That statement simply DOES NOT reflect reality.
The translation of every word is in a book anyone can buy.
Oh thank you for my best laugh of the day so far. Where in the world did you find such a clever joke? Is it your own?
“Latin mass without translation is speaking in tongues and strictly FORBIDDEN.”
Once in a while you really do see a completely different take on what the Church supposedly does wrong on FR. Most of the time it’s the same old arguments over and over, but that is a very new and fresh take on the subject.
The missal has latin to english translation on facing pages. Problem solved! No more “forbidden tongues”.
Freegards
For those who learn Latin it requires no translation and ain't speaking in tongues!
Latin mass without translation is speaking in tongues and strictly FORBIDDEN.YAAAAWNNNNN....................
>>Latin mass without translation is speaking in tongues and strictly FORBIDDEN. <<
What a strange statement.
So if I attend the Slovak Mass at my parish or the Polish Mass across the street, when I speak neither language, is that speaking in tongues?
If you attend a Latin Mass with my 11-year-old who has studied Latin for three years and understands every bit of it, is that speaking in tongues?
Maybe it’s just that YOU personally don’t understand it. Since the Catholic Church has moved to the vernacular, the study of Latin has fallen by the wayside. My Grandmother, who never made it past the 8th grade, understood Latin. The problem is not the Latin but rather those who do not study it.

That was your initial post.
On what authority doest thou speaketh?
According to whom?
Shall we assume that you are completely out of your mind? Or shall we assume that you are simply uninformed?
The first language of the Church is Greek; the second is Latin and the third is Church Slavonic. English is not an official Church language, and while there are those who believe that if English was good enough for Jesus it is good enough for the rest of us, the fact still remains that English is NOT a Church language. Your post is speaking in tongues, and is strictly FORBIDDEN.
