Until recently I was serving as Director of Public Relations for the Queen of Peace Center in Dallas, Texas. This non-profit organization disseminates information and messages from Marian apparitions in Medjugorje and around the world. I co-authored a full page ad that was published in the June 25, 1993, Dallas Morning News at a cost of $10,000. This ad announced "Mary's" prescription for peace and listed locations of her recent appearances. It also listed phone numbers to call for up-to-day recorded messages of Mary's latest apparitions, such as the one in Dallas (214) 233-MARY.

Ping for later

Why won’t this former “director” of “Mary, Queen of Peace Center” give us his/her name?

Most likely for reasons of safety, hate mail, threats.

Just an FYI, Medjugorje is not a Vatican approved apparition.

...Jesus alone is my Savior, and not co-redemptrix with His mother.

As a Catholic myself, I must say that if the author were actually expecting to be saved by Mary then he probably did himself a favor by choosing a different religion. Now he should do us all a favor and just enjoy what he's got.

The Medjugorjie pilgrimages kicked into high gear after the Fall of the Wall in the early nineties. What got me back then were the people going there to ooh and aah when, a few tens of miles away, other people were being massacreed.

“...Marian apparitions in Medjugorje ... “

This apparition has long been denounced by the Catholic Church and a fraud! This guy know little of Catholic Faith, and IMHO, has been duped more than once!

The stupidity displayed by the author and the poster of this nonsense is so tiring. People of her persuasion have been on an anti-Catholic crusade the entire season of Lent. It’s like they derive some special pleasure out of tormenting Catholics during this Holy Season. maybe we should be thankful.

If you read the bible, you would realize that the Blessed Virgin Mary says only one thing: Do what he (Jesus) tells you.”

There is much meaning in that simple phrase. Much symbolism.

“Marian apparitions in Medjugorje “

Anytime I see this treated as an approved apparition I have doubts about the groups loyalty to the magesterium. It has been condemned by the Bishop who is the only one who can give approval that an apparition is indeed supernatural and is not contradictory to the Catholic faith.

I remember reading that Catholic MUST pray to Mary in order to be saved.

Yeah...either that or fear of being exposed as just another tiresome protestant liar.

“Second, the Roman Catholic Catechism by Rev. William Cogan, now in its 44th year of print, has altered the 10 commandments of God. The 2nd commandment given to Moses reads, “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or in the earth beneath or in the water under the earth” (Exodus 20:4). The Roman Catholics have deleted this commandment but still came up with ten by splitting the 10th one into two separate commands. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s good; and you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife” (Exodus 20:17). I was reminded of the scriptural warnings for those who add to or subtract from the Bible.”

What an ignorant dweeb (not the poster) I can not believe any one gives creedence to this statement. The commandments also appear in Deuteronomy and it is from that ordering Catholic take them. Notice the wording of them does not change at all.

You didn't read that in ANY approved Catholic literature. Not ever. Never!

Actually, I do not believe they MUST pray to her, but it seems to be greatly recommended to do so.

Catholics must not doubt or deny any of the Marian dogmas for salvation, prayer to her is theoretically optional.

The movie that is cited in the OP, “Catholicism: Crisis of Faith” has been proven to be filled with errors and outright lies.

"There is much meaning in that simple phrase. Much symbolism."

As a former Catholic, I seem to remember in the '60's (I think), a "message from Mary" that had been on hold for a number of years that asked we pray the rosary daily.

I forget the exact details.

The Rosary is essentially 90% Mary and 10% God, with the exception that Jesus is Mary's child (" .. blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus" ), He isn't too much a part of the Rosary.

“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or in the earth beneath or in the water under the earth” (Exodus 20:4). The Roman Catholics have deleted this commandment”

Lies. This is from the Catechism.

ARTICLE 1 - THE FIRST COMMANDMENT
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.[3]
It is written: “You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.”[4]
