I then said to my mother, “I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

Where did JS 'learn' this?

From two lying demons; of course!

I have studied and combed these issues since the 1980’s

Oh?

And just 'reliable sources' did YOU use?

“From two lying demons; of course!”

My wife and I were just having that discussion. Well, she mentioned the Demonic. I said “I don’t think so - it would have made more sense (facts, free of errors, etc.) if Satan had given him real visions. The errors, his past history with seers stones, etc. seem to indicate to me that he just made it up. But Satan sure has been able to use his story.”

What percentage was pre-LDS?

Huh? Not sure what you mean by that. Former LDS means just that. They'd left the LDS and became Lutheran. The balance (75%) had never been LDS.

It is OBVIOUS to ALL that he was really thinking of your feelings and how OUT OF PLACE you would have been at a gathering of those not of your faith.

Obvious to all? Nope. Not at all. You're wearing your rose colored glasses... You see, the only reason to feel out of place would be if they made me feel that way. I associate with people not of my church all the time. No big deal there. Shouldn't have been in this instance if they didn't have their own issues.

Heh.

I can control the startup and maximum volume so I set the startup volume at -30.00dB. That way it's not too loud when the TV comes on, yet can be heard. We normally listen at around -24.00dB. I have the max set at around -15.00dB which is loud, but not shattering.

The subwoofer is set to half volume which, in our house produces one a pretty decent boom. But I keep in in manageable limits so I don't have to fool with it. As for the music, it's jazz or standards (Sinatra, Ella, that kind of thing). My wife listens to Country in the car (or when I'm not around ☺). Today's Country does nothing at all for me. I'll take the old stuff, Bob Wills for sure. That's like Dixieland with a fiddle...

I even have some old Westerns I taped off the Westerns Channel where Bob Wills and the Playboys are the featured music entertainment. I'll haul those out once-in-a-while as well.

Not sure what you mean by that.

Just that MORMONs find their BIUGGEST bunch of newbies in churches that have FAILED to teach the basics and fundamentals of Christianity.

When they drive by YOUR church, they are wondering how many of them they can GET!

My wife and I were just having that discussion.

Matthew 24:24
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

How hard of a 'miracle' would it be for SATAN to produce some Golden Plates?

More warnings:
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works”
2Corinthians 11:13-15

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders
2 Thessalonians 2:9

Missed the last sentence when I replied. Nope. Never had another party. Months later, during the Christmas season (the one before we returned to Illinois) his wife showed up at our front door one evening while we were having dinner. She had a cake she’d baked. My wife answered and the woman’s actual words were “Are you the woman of the house?”

Let’s put this in context. We’d been living next door to them for 3 1/2 years by the time this occurred. That about puts things into context between our house and theirs.

It is OBVIOUS to ALL...

I was being sarcastic; again (still!)

Of COURSE you could handle it, that's what mature people do; but perhaps they would have felt as though they would have cleaned to 'cleanse the Temple', so to speak, before they could actually USE their possession.

MORMONs make a BIG production out of opening a new 'temple' and invite the WORLD to 'come see what WE have!' (that you don't)

Then, when the crowds are gone, the cleansing begins.

Any ex-mo's know just EXACTLY what goes on during this 'cleansing'?

Heck...

Any MORMONs know?

Do they Cast Out Demons?

Do they sprinkle Holy Water?

Do they Annoint things with Oil?
