The Lawless One Who is to Come
The Ignorant Fishermen blog ^ | 2/28/11

Posted on 02/28/2011 5:45:44 PM PST by The Ignorant Fisherman

Lucifer is “at present” setting the final global stage for the world’s reception and worship of “the” Lawless One (Eph. 6:12). This man will be the lawless pinnacle of human depravity and will be exalted far above all the lawless ones that have ever existed before him - in the history of man - by Satan (2 Thess. 2:3-12, Rev. 13). Only one event, the Rapture of the Church of Christ prevents his unmasking and manifestation to a godless Christ rejecting world (2 Thess. 2:5-8, Rev. 6:1-2).

This masterpiece of Satan will absolutely despise ALL that is Almighty God; His ETERNAL Person, His ETERNAL sovereignty, His established ETERNAL RIGHTEOUSNESS, His OMNIPOTENT creative design, and His ordained and established laws and absolutes for time and ETERNITY (Dan. 7:25, Rev. 13: 5-6). Most of all, it will be this man’s burning passion to tyrannically oppose - lock stock and barrel during this seven year period - Almighty God’s Divine and angelic revelation, His signs and wonders, His godly messengers of the glorious gospel of Jesus Messiah and chiefly - Almighty God’s Christ “the Lamb of Almighty God” (Dan. 7: 25, 9:27, 11:36-39, Rev.17:12-14; Rev. 6-19).

This seven year period will be the junction station of the last 4300 years of the godless and lawless rebellion of Noah’s descendants (Gen. 9:1-19, 10, 11). The horrific devastation and global tribulation at this time will bring to the forefront man’s godless rebellion and rejection of Almighty God’s saving grace (2 Thess. 2:10-12). There is nothing like intense tribulation, oppression, and anarchy to bring out that which is in the heart of fallen man (Gen. 6:3, 5, Jer.17:9, Matt. 15:17-20, Gal. 5:19-21).

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thess. 4:17

There is no PTRDSC* in that passage.

* Pre-Trib Rapture Distinct from the Second Coming; aka the rapture of futurism.

" Only one event, the Rapture of the Church of Christ prevents his unmasking and manifestation to a godless Christ rejecting world (2 Thess. 2:5-8, Rev. 6:1-2)."

The Church is never referred to as 'he' in Scripture. The Church is always feminine. 2 Thess 2:5-8's reference to the '...he is taken out of the way' can't refer to the Church and isn't a reference to a rapture.

In case you think there will NOT come a day of judgement, (i.e. there WILL be an end), please comment on the following (2 Peter 3:3-19)

It seems those that scoffers will *eventually* be proven wrong.

I look at it like this — if I believe the end is near, then I will live my life under a sober influence. If I think the end is not in our lifetime, I may stay at the fair too long, and the result would not be good. I like bets I “win” regardless of the outcome.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

Masterpiece? Satan knows he doesn't need to try too hard. Good enough for government work.

The Renegade (lawless one, rebel) who is to come (Hebrew = בא = BO) is a rabble-rouser demagogue with a huge ego. Somebody dumb and greedy enough to believe that the devil will give him the top position of authority over the whole world (then again, he didn't obtain the job through merit). A narcissist only worships himself though, so the two liars deserve to scam each other.

The “day of the Lord” is the Second Coming. One thing that will happen on that day is the passing away of this present heavens and earth, melting with fervent heat.

It is also the day of destruction and judgment for the unrighteous.

2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. (1 Thess. 5; cf 2 Peter 2:6-9)

As much as I find the idea appealing that the Lord will return and take believers out before the trials of Daniel’s 70th week and especially before Antichrist is revealed (since this begins a more widespread and unholy reign of terror and persecution against believers), I find that the passages referenced say the opposite.

It is clear that the return of Christ for the church coincides with the onset of a time referred to here as “the day of the Lord” or the “day of Christ”. It is also clear that this day does not arrive until AFTER the apostasy and the revealing of Antichrist in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week. This is the main point of II Thessalonians 2.

While I welcome being corrected either now by the Word of God or later when the Lord returns, I believe it will unfortunately be a tragic correction of those expecting His return to provide for their escape from tribulation, and as such this error will lead many to despair when they find it does not happen as they have been incorrectly taught.

What edification is there to be gained from this futurist nonsense? It's all fabrication, fraud.

So here's to you, Mr. Robertson,
Jesus loves your cash more than we know (wo wo wo).
God bless your bank, Mr. Robertson,
Swiss accounts offer security (hee hee hee).

He wants to know a little bit about you for your cash.
He wants to know how he can help himself...
Just a hundred or a thousand, don't do anything rash.
Till the monthly donation is required from everyone...

Where have you gone, Christianity?
Charlatans have taken center stage.
Turn off these dispy clowns,
Turn to Jesus, make Him all the rage...

But if we look at Revelation 7, John is in the midst of seeing the judgements upon the earth, when he sees a great multitude in heaven

9After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands

14 I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15"For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.

Now in chapter 8, the 7th seal is broken and and the trumpet judgments begin.

Chapter 7 tells us of a great multitude which no one could count. That doesn't sound like thousands or 100's of thousands or even millions. The Bible throughout numbers the 10's or 100's of thousands that are in battles. It tells us the number of men in the exodus, which are in the millions. This number staggers that, "a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues". Sounds to me like every believer in history is before Gods throne as the judgements occur.

IF there are people before Gods throne, the resurrection has happened. Which is 1 Thess 4. If 1 Thess. HAS NOT happened, who are these multitudes? If they are believers who have died, BUT the resurrection hasn't happened, what is the purpose of the resurrection? And yet Rev 7 says they come out of the tribulation, and yet the tribulation continues. Rev 8 mentions the first trumpet judgemnet, Rev 11 the seventh trumpet, but this after the multitude from the great tribulation.

I’m 47 years old and only within the last few years have I had the honor of getting to know a family of true Christians. Probably people similar to the poster of this article. They have lifted me up like no one else I’ve previously met. I certainly know many other good non-Christians, but no one that rises to their level of character. Probably like you.

there are strong arguments for BOTH thoughts on when the rapture wil take place- your ‘day of the Lord’ has been argued convincingly BOTH ways-

Bottom line is, the faithful will either have to endure harships never before imagined, and will be mostl likely strengthened by the Lord during htis time, or we will be taken before the hardships take place- God has said He will provide for htose who are saved during the tribulation, and there’s no reason to think He won’t provide for those who were already saved before the tribulation as well IF we indeeed must undergo a short period

Obama the servant of the spirit of Antichrist, hate, lies and death. This satanic trinity is the broad road which leads to the wide gate of destruction. Obama a prince among liars leads the lemmings off the cliffs of defilement and death.

I figure the ‘day of the Lord’ refers to the Millenial Kingdom that begins with the Second Coming in Rev 19 and the ‘battle’ of Armageddon followed by the 1,000 year reign (the Sabbath of the Earth - Rev 20). That is why there is the reference to the ‘thousand years is as a day’ in those verses in 2 Peter. It appears to be a clue that the ‘day of the Lord’ is 1,000 years long. At the end of that ‘day’, the heavens pass away, the earth is burned up in Rev 20:11 and the judgement begins followed by the new heavens, the new earth and the New Jerusalem.

Otherwise, it looks like 2 Peter is saying that the Second Coming doesn’t happen until Rev 20:11 and that is too late for the martyrs to reign w/ Christ during the Millenial Reign and the 1,000 year Sabbath of the Earth.

I agree because the USA is not mentioned anywhere in the Book of Revelation. Not sure what it will be but it strikes me odd that the most powerful country in the world would not be mentioned at all.

I've never seen you post anything positive. What I have seen is EVERY TIME someone posts an endtimes posting, YOU chime in with something snide and deriding. I have no problem with people having differing opinions, but there is common courtesy, where at some point people see a thread that espouses a differing view and avoid it. But my opinion of you is, that you specifically look for these posts simply to cause derision. You mock and antagonize, and when you find a thread like this, you post to others like yourself, for them to join you in your mocking and derision.

I find it interesting that I came to this thread to see if you'd spew, and sure enough you did. You have have modus. Its to cause trouble with anyone who has a dispensational view. Granted, this isn't a caucus, so you are free to join in. But I find it telling of ones character, when every time there is a thread like this you come to cause trouble.

This wasn't a thread attacking your view. This was a thread espousing a different view from yours. And yet you felt compelled come here to mock others.

You offer no biblical references, just sarcasm.
