For the Coming of the King
"Yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry." Hebrews 10:37.
The Last Crisis
We are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of Christ is near at hand. The days in which we live are solemn and important... The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude.
The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.
The condition of things in the world shows that troublous times are right upon us. The daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future. Bold robberies are of frequent occurrence. Strikes are common. Thefts and murders are committed on every hand. Men possessed of demons are taking the lives of men, women, and little children. Men have become infatuated with vice, and every species of evil prevails.
The enemy (of souls) has succeeded in perverting justice and in filling men's hearts with the desire for selfish gain.
Maranatha! Lo, come quickly Lord.
Be careful of the source, Ellen G White is a false prophet, and founder of the seventh day adventist church-
Like a thief in the night.
Foolish to think you know the answer when God says that no human will know.
Every predictor of the end times has had one thing in common. They were, so far, all completely wrong! Thus false prophets.
But I guess if you stand on a corner in Arizona and scream that it is going to rain you will EVENTUALLY be correct.
But you will get sunstroke long before you get your feet wet.
I’d trust the Mayan calendar more than White. And that’s a pretty low bar.
*yawn*
It’s also foolish not believe Jesus will return soon.
No man can no the day or the hour, not even the angels in Heaven, but you can test the times to know the hour is short.
Don’t you see what is happening in the world today and how events are accelerating and an ever rapid pace?
Yes, there have been false prophets before and there will be more and the deception will also grow, to “deceive even the very elect” Jesus said. He also predicted that my FReind.
bttt
Yes, and the hour has been short, according to the less balanced and less reputable, for well over a thousand years now!
Eventually you will be correct, screaming out that it is going to rain in Arizona, but for most the time you are just going to look the fool.
I stand on the Word of God, the Bible.
Can you please point out what is not accurate about the statement I just posted?
Is it not viable to use something written to make a point, not create a doctrine of it or ruffle feathers, but gain a common ground in beholding what is going on in the World today?
Sounds like ex-SDA.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8
This was written in 1909? Time flies.
Yes, and it is the LORD who says that the day will come like a thief in the night.
It is a man, and a false prophet, who tells you he knows the hour and knows the time will be here in our lifetime.
I trust in the LORD. You, apparently, trust a false prophet.
[ Id trust the Mayan calendar more than White. And thats a pretty low bar. ]
I am more inclined to beleive the Mayan Calendar, not because I think the Mayans were prophets but because of the fools out there today who are all to willing to make it a “self fulfilling prophecy” when 2012 rolls around.

Forgot to add that this is why the 12’ers in Iran are so dangerous as well....
2000 was taken much more seriously by many more people than 2012 as being a date when the world would end.
There was even a plausible material cause of trouble, that being the 2k “bug”.
>>Sounds like ex-SDA.<<
No, but close. My father was raised SDA and now follows a Canadian “E.G. White purists” group that believes the most apostate of all churches in the end times will be the “official” SDA.
I disagree with pretty much nothing in the OP. However, it is the type of stuff that one could agree with pretty much at any time - even when the words were first penned. Heck, look at my tag line.
My comment was about White, not any specific thing she said. I know it’s a tired analogy, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. And even Joseph Smith and Mohammad got a couple of things right.
Good one! :)

Yep. It was a tangible and quantifiable problem. And we fixed it. I was a Y2k code remediator. If we had done nothing it would have been catastrophic.
