Pope John Paul II's blood to be relic in Polish church

A vial containing blood drawn from Pope John Paul II shortly before he died will be installed as a relic in a Polish church soon after his beatification later this year, an official said Monday. Piotr Sionko, the spokesman for the John Paul II Center, said the vial will be encased in crystal and built into the altar of a church in the southern city of Krakow that is opening in May. The exact date of the opening is not yet known, but it should be shortly after John Paul's beatification at the Vatican on May 1........... "It was the cardinal's proposal," Sionko said. "He is of the opinion that this is the most precious relic of John Paul II and should be the focal point of the church." .........

"The idea of displaying the pope's relics has met with some reservations, even inside the Catholic Church. "The tradition of relics comes from medieval practices of teaching the Bible through images and symbols," said the Rev. Krzysztof Madel, a Jesuit priest in Nowy Sacz who has publicly questioned the usefulness of displaying John Paul's blood. "But in today's rationalized world the message should rather come through teaching about someone's life." After John Paul's death, some Polish officials said they hoped John Paul's heart would be removed from his body and returned to his homeland for burial. However, church officials dismissed any possibility of dismembering the body, saying the age had passed for that practice. Dziwisz said Friday that he has always been against dividing of the body, but that "relics have always existed and will always exist."

So,

Are you asserting

and expecting sane, rational folks reading such

that

there will be

absolutely nothing more than

0.000000000000000000000000000000000%

genuflecting in front of,
bowing to,
kissing of the case,
tearful caressing of the case,

by the sheeple?

And, that the hierarchy observing such, should such occur--will strictly admonish the sheeple to STOP such idolatrous behaviors?

Don't mean to be disrepectful of one of Christianities great sects but I don't get it

Don't mean to be disrespectful of a great sect?

The Roman Catholic Church is not an effin "sect".

The heretic protestants who brought the slaves to America and let anybody and his gay brother call themselves a "Reverend" (Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, etc), those are a bunch of "sects".

Luther had a problem with corruption in the true Church.

Today, he would be kissing the Popes ring from his spot in Hell, because the crap that has been perpetrated as a result of his actions pales in comparison to anything going on in Rome.

Meant to ping you to that . . .

And to finish this sentence thusly:

So,

Are you asserting

TO ACTUALLY BELIEVE

there will be

absolutely nothing more than

Welllllll, some evidence suggests that JPII may well be in hell and Luther in Heaven.

At some point, the truth will out . . .

alas, late for some duped by the deceptions.

I have nothing to say to you or your inane imagery. You revealed your true self with posting about JPII being in hell. It was nothing more than a sycophantical attention getting prank and the mods confirmed it. I will not respond again.

Goulish indeed. Like gnawing on flesh and drinking blood and saying it’s Jesus.

Actually, the mods did NOT confirm that, at all.

However, there are highly likely other practical considerations involved.

Sadly.

Some groups simply cannot face any hint of some truths about themselves.

Been true through history.

I can only read what you post

Then show us where I "apologized."

And if I did not "apologize," then it is you who should be apologizing to me for misattributing a statement to me I did not make.

As I said, if this is how you wish to spend time on the forum, then prepare yourself for reading that you have now told all of us that Roman Catholic priests enjoy their long robes because they're all cross-dressing homosexuals.

Thanks for your candor.

Oh, that’s just wrong.

This is what they think makes up the Christian faith.

Fools.

Worse than the wholesale sanctioning of the rape of children by Romanist Priests?

Seems like Jesus was pretty put out by those who harmed children. It's in the Bible.

Are ypu all simply ignorant of the historical fact of the catacombs where persecuted Chrisitan swere forced to worship in secret and the signifigance that the remains of martyred Chrisitans had to those early Christians.

It is this reality that led to the Church sealing bones from martyrs and other saints into the altars, a practice that continues to this day.

You call it ghoulish, but I was surprised that when my young kids would enter churches in Europe while we lived there, they would love to see the skeletons and imagine the heroic virtue they had as servants of God. They were not grossed out. It was a lovely faith building experience. And it demonstrated to them that all the saints are real and connected.

Jesus authorized Peter to head the Church, not a crazy German heretic and his modern day compatriots.

I’m well aware that many early Christians were martyred. I just don’t need to look at their bones to appreciate their commitment to Christ.

Christians should celebrate life not death. Why focus on their flesh if they are with the Lord in heaven?

My Lord’s cross and tomb are vacant for a reason, He lives.

For Catholics, it’s all visceral, external flesh worship based on unbiblical tradition.

Sad really...

Nice try but I doubt you'll find any Benny Hinn supporters here.

Next time pick someone without a Pope connection. :)

The Roman Catholic Church is not an effin "sect".

lol. Sure it is. Rome is a property management company masquerading as a world religion. It's a step-up to call it a "sect," so count your blessings.

The heretic protestants who brought the slaves to America and let anybody and his gay brother call themselves a "Reverend" (Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, etc), those are a bunch of "sects".

Any licentious minister is put in jail. Unlike pederast priests who are more likely to be promoted. They do what comes naturally. And they're rewarded for it.

Luther had a problem with corruption in the true Church.

Luther fled the church of Rome. Luther came to despise the papacy and its tyranny and superstition and mysticism and anti-Biblical blasphemy and idolatry.

because the crap that has been perpetrated as a result of his actions pales in comparison to anything going on in Rome.

lol. Rome slaughters its opponents. Protestants preach to theirs. Rome ordered the Inquisition. Protestants conducted the Great Awakening. The majority of Roman Catholics voted for Obama; evangelical Protestants for McCain.
