Evangelical book catalogs promote books such as Planet Earth: The Final Chapter, The Great Escape, and the Left Behind series. Bumper stickers warn us that the vehicles occupants may disappear at any moment. It is clear that there is a preoccupation with the idea of a secret rapture. Perhaps this has become more pronounced recently due to the expectation of a new millennium and the fears regarding potential Y2K problems. Perhaps psychologically people are especially receptive to the idea of an imminent, secret rapture at the present time. Additionally, many Christians are not aware that any other position relative to the second coming of Jesus Christ exists. Even in Reformed circles there are numerous people reading these books. Many of these people are unaware that this viewpoint conflicts with Scripture and Reformed Theology.

Is “make disciples...baptizing them” really that difficult to understand?
P.S., I don’t accept labels or being into columns.
the Apostles taught their doctrines very well, because the author was the Holy SPIRIT.
Born of water is natural biological birth; spiritual birth is the awakening of your spirit to the lord’s payment at the cross.
Put your imagination on pause please.
WHAT UNMITIGATEDLY ENORMOUS HUBRIS of an assertion
Holy Spirit protects the universal Body of Christ
. . . which may, here and there,
have some rather minor to moderate connections with the RCC—usually to virtually always— through the Charismatic groups within the RCC.
by God’s miraculous Grace, only, of course.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matt. 3:11)Had enough? The fact is there is no other agent other than the Holy Spirit by which a person can become a true child of God. Since the time of creation until the time of the new creation the new heavens and new earth, the Spirit of God has been at work in the world. Yet, because of the dispensational pre-trib rapture nonsense, we are to believe that the Holy Spirit will be removed from the earth for seven years. And to what end? So that so-called tribulation saints can save themselves without the need for the Divine Person. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (Luke 11:13)
"For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say." (Luke 12:12)
Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God . That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:5,6)
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. (John 7:37-39)
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:26)
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. (Acts 2:17,18)
For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God. (Rom. 2:28,29)
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us . (Rom. 5:5)
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His . (Rom. 8:9)
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit . (Rom. 14:17)
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14)
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit . (1 Cor. 12:3)
For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. (Eph. 2:18)
For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, (Phil. 3:3)
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit . (1 John 4:13)
Once again the calamitous ramifications of dispensationalism become apparent.
Yes, every mention of baptism in the scriptures is an obedient act AFTER their spiritual birth has occured. (except for the baptism of the Lord himself.)
And BTW...the One Holy Apostolic Catholic Church is not the real name for the church, even by Rome's standards. I'm pretty sure they call it the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. :o)
I guess it was for Luther, Calvin and every Christian for the first 1,500 years of Church History. BTW - the same Church that decided the canon couldn’t understand it either. But you must have special knowledge that these men didn’t have, congratulations!!
I’m so blessed that applies to me and all the AUTHENTIC CHRISTIANS I know . . .
probably even some RC’s.
1,500 years is a long time to make such a greivous error, you sure about that?
First truth you’ve posted today.
With postings like these, I can see why.
You have only God Almighty to be accountable to.
Correct. Not you. Neither do I have to be accountable to the harpies who despise Pentecostals, even while they use them to attack Catholics. Nice that it works out that way.
The apostles used Tradition as there are many cases where they referred to prophecies not recorded in Hebrew Scriptures. Yet these prophecies were deemed valid by Apostles.
Most of the NT rebukes for following tradition refer to following Mosaic tradition.
The canon of the Bible - all 73 books - is a matter of Tradition. It is not mentioned in the Bible what books are in the Bible! This last argument against sola scriptura is so easy and such a complete a refutation against what you have said!
thank you for that, i couldn’t recall 1 Corinthians 12:3!
Your imagination is still in control!
Read the scriptures aloud; believe them; problem solved.
>> wherefrom the Apostles concluded that the body was taken up to heaven.<<
Concluded? The first assumption/resurrection after Jesus and it wasnt important enough to write about? Seriously? Thats the best evidence used for the assumption of Mary? Give me a break here, surely a monumental event like that would have clearly and concisely been written about by the Apostles.
my KJV Bible says something else, Acts 22:16 is just one example. how can the spiritual birth have happened if you are still dead in your sins???
how can the Church be wrong on baptism for 1,500 years??
I see now that the entire problem is with your lack of comprehension of the plain word.
Just read your own post consiously.
Correct. And so does God. What does God call the little cult that you settled in to?
