Well, it's still pretty customary among Middle Easterners, both Israeli and Arab . . . not a modern American custom, though . . .

Did you not understand the context which was given, for the Catholic belief, as stated? To answer your attempted retort directly, I wasn’t there. Not quite that old. We have no way of knowing exactly how he did it. HOWEVER, the question is moot, as the apostles were all priests.
