In Christ Alone lyrics

Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save

?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

"One more time. What is THE Gospel? ((((Crickets)))"

How many times do we have to answer this?

How about until you get it right?

It's been right for 2000 years. The only question is how many different ways the children of the Reformation get it wrong.

Always disappointed to see the religious bigotry and hatred from our friends here. On the other hand it confirms that the ignorance and corruption that Luther saw and acted on in his day has not gone away

AMEN!. Semper Reformanda!

Without the reformation I think some here would be warming up the old stake again.

No kidding.

lol. It was a first-up on google images.

No doubt. I wonder what the search string was.

Makes you uncomfortable, huh?

That’s a start.

Strangely enough, it makes me disappointed. I keep looking for debate from people who don't post photoshopped antiCatholic photos or quotes from antiCatholic web sites and claim that they are really Catholic. However, one must consider one's origins.

And if comfort were the reason we participated in these discussions, that would be the end of it.

But God commands us to preach the Gospel in truth.

No doubt Mormons and Scientologists are comfortable with their beliefs, too. That doesn’t make them Christianity.

INDEED.

And then there are those like me . . . comissioned to afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted.

LOL.

Give the insane rhetoric a rest, Mark. That photo was not photo-shopped.

It wasn’t a photo of a cat, either.

Christians are not “mystified” about the hatred and blood-lust behind your desire to return to the Inquisition.

We are mystified by your desire to return to the Inquisition while calling yourself a Christian.

If a person cannot say what the good news of the Gospel is, as you have been unable or unwilling to do, Christians are well advised to look elsewhere for the truth.

"If a person cannot say what the good news of the Gospel is, as you have been unable or unwilling to do,"

I simply choose not to engage you in a debate over the most important points of Catholic dogma. You have nothing to add to the discussion, and frankly your condescending, know-it-all attitude, in the absence of any demonstrable intellect or education, is distasteful. Gotcha is a game you are going to have to play with yourself.

They will never be able to say what the good news of the Gospel is, it's the Great Catholic Catch 22. To be able to say what it is, they would have to go beyond Matt, Mark, Luke & John. BUT they are arguing now that Paul was not even an Apostle. He is clearly the Apostle to the Gentiles. But they don't believe they are the Gentiles. They believe they are spiritual Israel. So Paul is out. And they go from John to James. And they are left with faith without works is dead. They begin with the Kingdom Message and they end with the Kingdom Message. The Gospel of the Grace of God is completely overlooked and ignored.... Because they aren't gentiles...

He shall have them in derision.

LOLOL. So now it’s “condescending” to ask a supposed Christian what is the good news of the Gospel?

On the Religion Forum?

So, what is the good news of the Gospel?

So asking a supposed Christian what is the good news of the Gospel is not only "condescending," but "troll food."

Wow. With that kind of witness, no wonder Rome is bleeding membership.

I cannot believe this idiocy continues day after day after day. It’s like they are trying to prove something by asking questions — when an answer is given, their response is “WRONG! And we’re concerned you’re going to hell.”

Why bother? It’s just a stupid game. Christ is in charge.

“the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire” (Mt 3:12, several similar)

“present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any; such thing; but that it should be holy, and without blemish” (Eph. 5:27)

As a Bible-believing Christian I celebrate the purification of the Catholic Church every time it occurs.
