OK. Cause, then. My next question would be this:

Well, I will but it in my words: to now the cause is to know the truth, the reason, the why (not the how).

complete misunderstanding of Matthew 25:31-46.

So teach us. It is always fun, almost as good as watching you people "explain" James 2:17-26 or John 6:35-70.

following the text, how does the Judge know which are His sheep and thus who to put on His right hand (for this happens before there is any mention of works)?

Christ know our works better than we ourseves do. He separates thenm according to their works known to Him, and after separating them He explains the reason, and the reason is explicitly stated as their works.

What could possibly lead a person to lie on their tag line if it wasn't to mislead?

This is preposterous! What makes you think he "lied" on his tagline??? That's his nickname. Just because there is a poster by that same name is coincidence. All you have to do is ask. All mom had to do is ask instead of jumping to convict him without evidence. Getoffmylawn was subjected to a witch hunt Salem style. Don't be like them. You owe getoffmylawn an apology, imo.

To: Alex Murphy; Natural Law; Religion Moderator; Running On Empty

Bringing comments from a thread that was closed LAST APRIL onto this thread, comments which have nothing to do with the present subject under discussion (unless the only subject is anti-Catholicism) is about the least logical or Christian thing I can imagine.

I was dogpiled in that thread, if you want to bring it up here, and I did not complain, and I answered those who disagreed with me. None of their arguments changed my mind. Keeping MY remarks (and not the remarks made to me) in a file, and hauling out the file when I have not participated in the Religion Forum for several weeks, appears to be a gesture calculated to start an argument.

I decline. I would like the Religion Moderator to rule about dragging stuff from old, closed threads onto a current thread, if it is not inconvenient. Because I thought that was against the RF guidelines.

If it is not against the guidelines, I chastise you, Alex, for keeping personal files on FReepers with whom you disagree, then hauling them out for some unknown purpose. Again, NOTHING any proddie said on that thread changed my mind, nothing impressed me as being Christian, and I doubt it ever will. Your actions are very like stalking, as I have purposely AVOIDED YOU due to typically unpleasant interactions.

ROE, I pinged you because you have counseled me to avoid discussion of Paul. As you can see, it is not all that simple. And others have evidently piled on.

LOL!!!!

You reminded me why I enjoy reading some of these posts - they are hilarious!!

and wash their clothes, and they will be clean

When you wash your clothes which makes them clean - do you say, 'bless this water for it is holy - it made my clothes clean'? LOL! Holy Water, Holy Tradition, Holy Mass, Holy Eucharist, 'THINGS' are holy to Catholics. What isn't holy with the RCC? We know it's subjects aren't - they need purgatory even those they use 'holy water'. Maybe it's the RCC who started the use of HOLY COW! You Catholics have to kill those sacred cows/traditions.

Revelation 15:4
Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested.

Satan sure has his hands in the RCC teachings. Satan's tactic - If God says He is the ONLY one holy, I'll reduced 'holy' down to 'things' and it's subjects ate from the plate of deception once again.

Without the letters of Paul the Gospels would still be all that is necessary for Salvation. Without the Gospels, the letters of Paul are empty and meaningless.

Exactly.

Good works sanctify???? You don't get that from Holy Scripture.

Wuithout denying that it is through grace alone that we are sanctified, consider

[12] Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate. [13] Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach. [14] For we have not here a lasting city, but we seek one that is to come. [15] By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise always to God, that is to say, the fruit of lips confessing to his name. [16] And do not forget to do good, and to impart; for by such sacrifices God's favour is obtained.

[...]

[20] And may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great pastor of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the blood of the everlasting testament, [21] Fit you in all goodness, that you may do his will; doing in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 10)

Quite simply, since you are judged by your works (Matthew 25) you cannot be holy without them.

You guys claim you won't know if you are saved til you meet Jesus face to face at the final judgment...

In which case, in your religion, Catholics go to purgatory and may still end up in Hell

Judgment precedes the passing through Purgatory.

And people in hell are living in hell.

They aren’t dead either.

If they died to us, they are beyond our legitimate reach. Contacting someone whose body has died here oh earth is expressly forbidden by God.

Where did Jesus teach us to pray to ANYONE besides God?

Isn’t God good enough? Or maybe He’s too busy? Do you think you can get something out of a saint that God isn’t going to give us?

What’s the problem, are you ashamed of the hatred you posted towards St. Paul? You can repent instead of making it a big deal on this thread.

I'm not discussing the topic with you. I have seen no rational discourse in your posts, whatsoever.

You can repent instead of making it a big deal on this thread.

I have had a discussion about my opinion of St. Paul with a number of intelligent, holy, Christian protestants who fully understand why his letters (those that are authenticated as his) would cause a problem with some believers. None of them were on this thread.

“The idea that an angel, who very nature is to serve God, can rebel against God, or that God cannot rid the world of this rebellious noëtic being is preposterous to say the least, no to mention that it’s thoroughly pagan (Zoroastrian).”

Why is it so preposterous to think that a created spirit being, endowed with untainted innocent free will and enjoying the glories of the heavens could not think that in its exalted state it knew more about what satisfies itself than God?

In His time and according to His purposes God will rid the world of this malevolent being, but until then, Jesus has taught us to pray the Father to deliver us from the “evil one”.

The Reformation reconnected people with the understanding of the love of the God of the Bible, the one who died for them to forgive ALL their sins so they didn't have to live under a cloud of constant condemnation and fear of eternal hellfire.

The truth will indeed set you 'free'....excellant!

Quite simply, since you are judged by your works (Matthew 25) you cannot be holy without them.

Matthew 7:21- 23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

Here are people who believed in God and did mighty works(miracles), cast out demons, and prophesied in Jesus name. They had the works and they believed God.

And yet Jesus said that He never knew them. What were they missing?

It simply goes to show that you CAN'T depend on works. They did and they appealed to them and yet their works clearly didn't save them or in any way contribute to their salvation.

REMINDER: God’s Word is Holy Spirit inspired. So who do you/or anyone else ending up hating? Also, His Word is Spiritually discerned. The Spirit would never reveal hatred towards any part of HIS WORD.

Peter calls Paul's writings Scripture.

Are you telling us Peter is wrong?

As I recall, YOU told me to stop posting to you. Now you post to me? And I should believe your assessment of my opinion of St. Paul as “hate”?

Not likely.
