Even moderately smart folks can tell when someone is firing rhetorical blanks...

Mormons and Muslims have far more in common than either do with Christianity. Both were started by a single man desiring personal attention, slaughtered the Bible and God for their own personal purposes, took children as wives and took multiple wives, and created cults that survive to this day. That is the work of Satan, not God.
Take a little historical revisionsim, sprinkle in some pop personality cult and wa-la.
My husband’s cousin was a party girl when she was in high school, smoking pot and whoring around. She got pregnant at 16, had an abortion. She did manage to make it to college, continuing on the same path, until she met and fell in love with this Mormon boy. She cleaned up her act, graduated from Nursing school and eventually married him. She now has a lovely family with 6 kids and is living a faithful life. I’m not Mormon. I don’t agree with many of their theological precepts...that being said.... they tend to make good people. And, I know a good work when I see one. This frothing at the mouth bigotry in the evangelical community against the Mormons is sad.

What was his freepname? Or was the governor responding to an armed insurrection by mormons? But then digging back to the mid 1800's shows how lame the arguement is.

You do know the context of that quote, right?
Spiritually speaking Islam and LDS are in the same club along with every other religion in the world that does not follow the real Christ or change his teachings, false religions are false religions, and the paths lead to the same end.
As for the LDS, it is far more than a speck we are talking about...

Oh, good God. This is a rally. Surely all types of people with differing views can come together for a common cause at a rally. Silly, just plain silly.
Hard to see why a "prophet of god" would appoint himself a general and do such a thing...
