Ever seen something like this? (Beck Rally)

Ever seen something like this?

Have you ever seen something like this in the Bible - God saying, "Go meet with the Baal worshippers' and arrange a huge rally, an ecumenical service - talk about honor and integrity and family values.. and you can pray to Me, of course, and they can pray to Baal - in fact, hold the priest of Baal's hand as he prays.. that will be such a nice touch.. and its quite ok with me.. I, the Lord your God, the holy One, really don't mind.. that's because it will show so much love to people and it will open hearts to My religion and everyone will so appreciate you not being closed minded elitist bigots. It will do wonders for people's view both of you and of Me. Go do this in My Name."?

Ever seen that? Even a hint of it? No? Me neither. - JS

They do know and that is what scares them. The prevalent belief appears to be that the Christians who were at the rally are all being corrupted by false gods because the guy who organized the thing is not a Protestant or Catholic.

Just recently Glenn spent time on his show touting artifacts in a museum in Ohio as items found in Indian burial mound regions which show a Hebrew influence in ancient pre-history times of this continent. He spouted a vague replay of what Mormonism apologists claim for the items.

In reality the items were most likely stolen from a Jewish person around the 1800 mark--carved during the medieval period either in Spain or France, based upon the stone work-- and thrown away into the detritus trench near one of the much picked over Indian Mounds in the Ohio region of Indian mound earthworks.

The skull of the jewish person was discovered with the forehead phylactery still attached, and the remains were deemed recent--bured within thirty years of discover--based upon the condition of the remains and the lack of natural effects which would occur if the skeletal remains were two thousand years old. There was also forensic evidence reagrding the lettering system.

You can read about the controversy regarding these artifacts by googling 'The Newark Stones': look for the definitive explanation by Rachel Altman [ http://www.bibleinterp.com/articles/Altman_Newark.shtml ]

Dr. Altman's penetrating comment is: "If you found a US penny in a trench at a dig that was assumed to contain only ancient items, you wouldn't claim the penny to be a forgery when you saw it. First, however, you would have to recognize that it's a penny."

Divide and conquer is the main attack against conservatives and the tea party movement, and religion is the main target.

Do you ever analyze your assumptions, or bounce them off of others for consideration?

Y'all can take a look at this statement by Talisker; and then tell me what assumption is being made here.

Answer: To be divided assumes a fair amount of unity. And furthermore, then, what does Talisker assume is unified & is therefore the main "target": Why, "religion"

Now, to hear-tell some of these FReeper posters tell it, you'd think we were all so united on "religion" that we were all adherents of the Bahai faith or something!!!

So, I gotta ask ya, Talisker: Why do you assume we are so united on religious matters? What has brought you to this conclusion?

I mean, let's just pretend for a moment that not a single FR poster has ever said one single thing "negative" about any Mormon belief. Would that somehow muster your fantasy that we're "united???" Really?

Have you ever read Mormon "scriptures" and what they specifically said about all Christian sects?
Do the Mormons portray a "show of unity" with the Christian church?
* Is it a "peace offering" by the Mormon church for them to cite the Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 14:9-10, which claims that only 2 churches exist -- the church of the Lamb (the Mormon church) -- and the church of Satan (the Christian church)?
* Is it Kum-ba-yahville for Mormons to claim that every single Christian professing believer is "corrupt" (Joseph Smith used the word "all")?
* Is it "Unity Central" for Mormons to claim that 100% of Christian creeds are "an abomination" to their god?

[Note: These statements weren't just from 'overpassionate' sermons given by Smith; they were claims from the original vision of Mormonism, which a later generation of Mormons decided was worth counting as 'scripture'...look it up on Google for yourselves...just put in Joseph Smith - History + "Pearl of Great Price" ... read verses 18-20]

I mean, how ludicrous, Talisker, to somehow claim somebody is trying to "divide" us when you don't utter a single phrase about what Mormons have called us Christians for 180 years -- and to boot, claimed this is what "God" thinks of us!

Do you think, Talisker, that Beck, a disciple of Joseph Smith, is "honoring" the Christian church when Beck believes what Smith said in Doctrines & Covenant 1:30 -- that the Mormon church "is the ONLY true and living church on the face of the earth"???

If we're not true, Beck & his fellow Mormons imply we are "false." If we're not alive, Beck & his fellow Mormons imply we are (spiritually) "dead."

How is that "unifying" for two-faced Mormons to say wonderful things to our face, and then turn the other way, pull out their wallets, and pay for these above comments to published as written slander in over 100 languages spread around the world?
...and disseminated online 24/7?
...and by person-to-person (52,000 Lds missionaries & Lds teachers using curricula as ALL of them call ALL Christians "apostates").

So when Muslims call all Christians "infidels," we're just supposed to say, "Why, how flattering! You know our loving Mormon brothers and sisters say the same thing of us only they use the 'loving' byword of 'apostates.' Isn't that just precious? Come. Let's all join in the Kum-ba-yah refrain, lest those nasty FReepers come & try to 'divide & conquer us.'"

“Uh, no it isn’t.”

You don’t believe that Easter was started 2000 years before Jesus was born?

Under the definition for Easter inWebster’s Dictionary (College Edition)one finds: “originally the name of pagan vernal festival . . . Eastre, dawn goddess.”Further reading in an encyclopaedia, or most books on the holidays will identify this Eastre with the pagan goddess known variously as Eostre, Ishtar, Semeramis, and Astarte. This is the same Babylonian “Queen of Heaven,”whose worship is condemned in the Word of God (see Jeremiah Chapters 7 and 44).

I most certainly was. Nimrod’s wife Semeramis was the one who declared herself a Goddess and started the whole thing.

After the flood, when the human race was centralized on the plains of Babylon, hasatan sought to turn men away from YHWH’s plan of redemption by producing a counterfeit Messiah. Hasatan found an ambitious woman named Semeramis, the widow of Nimrod, “the mighty hunter before YHWH” Genesis 10:9 who had met with a violent death. Nimrod had been deified as the deliverer from the menace of wild animals. His wife, seeking to perpetuate his worship and also with designs to retain the power of the kingdom, deceived people into believing that through a miraculous conception she had given birth to a son called Tammuz, purported to be the reincarnation of Nimrod. Here began at 2000 B.C.E. hasatan’s counterfeit to the promised “Seed”. Semeramis with her illegitimate son was thenceforth worshipped as “mother of god” (Madonna) or “the queen of heaven.” Thus originated the ancient Babylonian mystery religion, the fountainhead of all idolatry. Every idol whether it is mentioned in the Holy Scriptures or in Mythology, can be traced to this source.

Galatians 4:8-11 “Howbeit then, when you knew not Elohim, you did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that you have known Elohim, or rather are known of Elohim, how turn you again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.”

You need to throw away your copies of Alexander Hislop. A more worthless, stupid, lying book has not been written.

"Easter" comes from a Germanic goddess, not a Babylonian one. Only the English, Danes, Norwegians, and Dutch call it by a name of that derivation.

The rest of the world knows it by a name derived from Pesach (=Passover). That includes Latin, Greek, French, Spanish, etc. In Slavic countries, its called by a name which translates to "Bright Night". And the official name in Catholic prayerbooks translates to "The Solemn Passover Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ".

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

A little more study would perhaps do you good.

Basically, almost every vile, profane and idolatrous practice you can think of originated at Babel with Queen Semiramis, the Mother Goddess and Nimrod. As the people scattered from Babel with their different languages, they, of course, used different names for Nimrod (Tammuz) and Semiramis. Some called the Mother Goddess “ISHTAR” (originally pronounced “Easter”). In other lands, she was called Eostre, Astarte, Ostera, and Eastre. Other names for Semiramis, the Mother Goddess include: Wife of Baal, Ashtaroth or Ashtoreth, and Queen of Heaven. The Mother goddess was frequently worshipped as the goddess of fertility - and as a sort of Mother Nature and goddess of spring and sexual love and birth. She was also worshipped as a mediator between god and man. Sexual orgies and temple prostitutes were often used in her worship and in attempting to gain her favor.

Noah’s great grandson was on this earth well before the time period you reference. Nimrod and his wife Semiramis and her illegitimate son Tamuz are well documented in the Bible as is God’s wrath concerning them.
