Otherwise, it is conspicuously absent from Bible prophecy and that in itself may be an indicator that the US is not a major player in the end times events, which primarily surround the Middle East.

I think this is the case. We are at the backwaters of prophetic events.

Interesting thought. The woman is Israel, but I don't think the wings are the USA because Israel goes to a place in the desert. I've always thought this was in close proximity to the land of Israel.

Politics is funny too. Back in 2000 I know the Holy Spirit called me to pray during the Florida counting of Bush/Gore. Now during this election cycle my sense is the Spirit is silent about a political solution to our current situation. The republicans are not the answer. Jesus Christ our Lord is the answer.
