Most of what one finds on the internet is simply one man's own personal interpretation of the scripture

Such as John Gill's?

Secondly, WHY do you think Calvin refers to her a the Virgin Mary if he does not believe she remained one?

Because the virgin birth is a tenet of faith

The fact is no one does know correct? There was no one in the bedroom of Mary and Joseph . The Catholic church has made up various stories to explain why Joseph may have been fine with that ..but there is no infallible record of their sex life.. no one does know..but it does not matter.. it has not one thing to do with our salvation

INDEED.

Though given the culture . . . I think there’d be evidence lingering if Joseph was denied his BIBLICAL rights.

Better stop the presses.......we need to replace Schubert's "Ave Maria" with Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy". That's gonna mess up a lot of celebrity Christmas albums......(And I'm pretty sure Mary wasn't all that happy at the foot of the cross).

Are christmas songs where you all get your theology? That explains alot

By “the Church” is meant “the Catholic Church”, an institution that by it's own admission is suffused with Platonism, paganism and reliance on error, to put it gently.

As to the “mind of the (Catholic) Church”, what might that be? The teachings of the Catholic Church? The Pope seldom if ever makes his (ahem..) “infallible” statements, the actions of some perverted bishop?, Vatican II that is bitterly criticized? The Democrat or Republican or socialist priest? “...mind of the Church” indeed!!

The who crucified Christ and why?

Why, God smote Christ with His wrath, of course. Why? Likely he was angry with Himself.

You do see where this leads by now, yes?

"The conjecture which some have drawn from these words, that she had formed a vow of perpetual virginity, is unfounded and altogether absurd. She would, in that case, have committed treachery by allowing herself to be united to a husband, and would have poured contempt on the holy covenant of marriage; which could not have been done without mockery of God. Although the Papists have exercised barbarous tyranny on this subject, yet they have never proceeded so far as to allow the wife to form a vow of continence at her own pleasure. Besides, it is an idle and unfounded supposition that a monastic life existed among the Jews." - Calvin, Commentary on Luke 1:34

That bears repeating

... Mary’s highest honor was far inferior to the other favors which she had received; for it was of vastly greater importance to be regenerated by the Spirit of God than to conceive Christ, according to the flesh, in her womb; to have Christ living spiritually within her than to suckle him with her breasts.
In a word, the highest happiness and glory of the holy Virgin consisted in her being a member of his Son, so that the heavenly Father reckoned her in the number of new creatures.

Did you really read this? This is telling us that Marys greatest joy was not the virgin birth or nursing the son of God.. but to be regenerated by God, to become a sister to Christ through adoption as are all those that are saved..

Considering Calvinist theology, when your foundational view of humanity is Totally Depraved, "human being" would be an honor

You just keep proving you do not understand the reformed doctrines..

It is a bad translation. It is possible to translate prosopos as “presence” in some contexts, but as applied to Christ it is pure nonsense, as He is present everywhere. The meaning of the passage is that St. Paul acts on the authority of Christ.

I noticed your new tagline.

Did you hear about the breakfast joint that served Eggs Benedict in a hubcap? They said, “There’s no plates like chrome for the hollandaise. :o)

Yes, I know because I believe what the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church teaches.

Wag that is accepting that doctrine by faith alone ..Sola fide ..but not faith in Christ, but faith in Rome

Sola Ecclesia Romanus

I am not tethered by the 16th century man-made invention of sola scriptura.

No, Catholics accept what man says is true with no infallible support

There is absolutely no proof or even a suggestion anywhere in known inspired writing that Mary was born free of sin, that she never sinned, that she was assumed into heaven, there is no evidence that she can hear or answer prayer or that she is the "queen of heaven"

This is all nothing more than speculation made doctrine.. All sola scriptura says is that it is the FINAL authority because we know that is the inspired word of God

Marys spiritual condition is of no import ....not one at all or God would have seen to it that we would have assurance on it.. We are saved by Christ not his mama

And if you are deceived, turns out you weren’t elect to begin with. Nice circle.

Actually after I was saved I would no longer be deceived..I left the Roman church

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

It is possible to translate “prosopos” as “presence” (an example of that is 2 Cor 10:1) and of course the direct meaning is “face”, nearly always synonymous with “person”. But in the case of 2 Cor 2:10 “presence” makes no sense because St. Paul makes a reference to his authority stemming from the authority of Christ. What he is saying is that he absolves the penitent in agreement with the decision of the local church and on authority of Christ. As St. John Chrysostom explain, he absolves him not in order to please the local priests but because that is the right thing to do, in Christ.
