If you ever get to Bluff, Utah; stop in at the Twin Rocks Restuarant and get one of their burger on fry bread. Their cook does an EXCELLENT job and probably uses Blue Bird Flour as well!

I don't have a 'love fest' with Mormons -- what would even make you think otherwise?
The only reason I'm talking about them at all, is because you and a few others on this thread are very insistent that I focus my attention on Mormons ... as if it's the only thing that matters.
I find it interesting, in a clinical sense, that you should be so insistent. And as I say, it seems odd to me. I think you've got a much greater personal stake in the battle than you're willing to admit. Your particular focus doesn't seem healthy to me. But it's your life, and I wish you luck with it.
What is your religion/faith/tradition?
I'm a Christian with an Anglican bent. I'm an active member of an Episcopal parish.
AMEN
I have one.
My top two incisors had worn down quite a lot over the years and I had caps put on them.
About two years later, the left one just snapped off! I wasn't chewing on anything hard at the time either.
It was either a bridge, or an implant. (or look like a Hoosier goober!)
I did NOT want to fiddle around with a bridge so I chose the implant - the cost was similar.
The grandkids were REALLY interested in the thing, but older folks seem to cringe away.
It took about a month to finally ignore the feeling it produced. Our regular teeth have a thin layer of flesh material between the root and the bone which gives slightly with pressure. (Go ahead; you CAN move your teeth a bit! ;^)
The implant is FIRMLY secured - fused - to the bone and does NOT move!
It looks just like my other tooth with the cap and works just fine.
THAT has worked out well!
In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet, for our salvation depends on them.
1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say Thus Saith the Lord, to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by mens reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidencythe highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidencythe living prophet and the First Presidencyfollow them and be blessedreject them and suffer.
I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captainhow close do our lives harmonize with the Lords anointedthe living ProphetPresident of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

I do? I don't think I do. I am aware of this. I also know that God uses murders and kidnappers to accomplish his Will. It is not necessarily the case that being a means by which God accomplishes his will is good for the means. It didn't work out so well for Judas. Paul in more than one place talks about how his manner of life and preaching, though they may be effective for others, may possibly lead to a bad end for him.
God Himself speaks of His anger, so to hold all Christians to just the lovey dovey approach is not wise nor is it always the way the Lord works thru people.
I am not, have not, do not, will not hold all Christians to just the lovey-dovey approach.
I am left wondering if anybody will answer the questions I asked or even read my posts before disagreeing with them and telling me what I overlook and don't know.
I think one of the reasons I am suspicious of those with a greatly above average PPM angry, abusive, confrontative posts is that many of them do not seem to be willing (or able?) to respond to the actual point made by the person to whom their words are directed.
AND there seems to be an attraction to theory over observation. That is theoretically God can save this or that person by means of a needlessly abusive interaction. However, I don't see that happening here on FR. And if someone displays a massive ignorance of what I believe and an unwillingness to understand it, I just walk away.
When the person who has done so turns and says, "Well if GOd wants him to be saved, my behavior won't make any difference," not only is that kind of thought entirely absent from Paul's writing, but it is, as I say, a license to be irresponsibly (because they outcome is God's "fault," not the abusers) "as nasty as they wanna be."
So it sure LOOKS, as I said, like the U, I, and P of tulip are used as permission to be irresponsible.

Wow, what a great history.
AFA, street preachers, have you ever heard of Israel Houghton?
No
He is a worship leader/Christian artist. He tells a story about how, his mother when she was pregnant with him, was walking down the street, broken and abused, and heard this street preacher yelling. She stopped, talked to him and gave her life to Christ, kneeling on the sidewalk about ready to give birth.
Incredible!
It just goes to show some indiscreet zeal is not as bad as the "offended" think.
The confusion is yours, FRiend -- the quote in question was not directed to you.
Joseph Smith claimed that he learned that PRESBYTERIANism was UNTRUE.
Can you shed any light on what he 'learned'?
No... it's just plain STUPID!
Not sure what to add.
Certainly your take on it is quite plausible.
I think it’s far from the whole or even 100% accurate picture, however.
Some folks hereon recognize a lack of guile. Others think I’m full of it in more ways than one.
At some point, only God’s opinion matters. Actually, at every point, in most respects.
I wasn’t there.
Conceivably the Headmaster was right.
Personally, sounds like a dogpile, to me. I’d likely have intervened.
However, even if it were a dogpile, in such a context, intervention by the authority would be tricky.
. . . without making life worse for the Jewish bloke . . . How to strengthen his standing and slice to shreds any authentic mean-spirited evil . . . tricky stuff . . . even for Headmasters.
Methinks some of your rich perceptiveness is not considering all the possibilities from God’s perspective.
Wear your magic ring!
