Certainly your take on it is quite plausible.
I think it’s far from the whole or even 100% accurate picture, however.
Some folks hereon recognize a lack of guile. Others think I’m full of it in more ways than one.
At some point, only God’s opinion matters. Actually, at every point, in most respects.
Truly I believe we all paint with too broad a brush.
God is the master artist. He doesn't have just one color on His palette. His is a beautiful, colorful masterpiece as we can see in this glimpse of the new heaven and new earth.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. - I Cor 12:4-11
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. - I Cor 12:28
