And then you eat lentils 'til...
The enemy is the enemy of the cross. Anyone who would add to or take from the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST is an enemy of the Gospel.

Yum!
Navajo fry bread!
I think it is sad for her, because I believe that we can indeed understand 90% or more of scripture using good methods.. Scripture always interprets scripture.. so if one is a student of the word one can understand it ..one can draw out types and shadows.. what we do not see is the mysteries that belong only to God.. We do not see prophetic scriptures until they are fulfilled.. my God is not a mystery writer he wrote the word to reveal Himself and the means of salvation..

I agree.
If I have to defend myself against SOMETHING; then you'll have to be more specific.
Exactly, that gives them that unique crispness :) (My cholesterol count is great so I can enjoy them :)
And mighty darned HANDsome, too!
Yet Paul did not hesitate to be blunt or confrontative ... Just as Peter did.
And yet disagreements on even those supposedly "clear" topics have led to actual and significant bloodshed -- not to mention schism after schism after schism.
if it is not clear it says something about the spirituality of the person, not the word of God
I see..... Well, no, honestly, I don't see.
It may not have been clear. I was saying you cant attain freedom by having it granted to you. Rather, you have to take the freedom for yourself.
Actually, I have a very bad cold/flu hence the crankiness.
I am not going through all the way back through the thread, however several statements you have made are verbatim SOP LDS arguments. I don’t know if you are LDS but you wouldn’t be the first to lie about it and claim you weren’t LDS even if you were. It has happened a lot over the years on RF.
I have no problem with the number of protestant denominations, but again, they are not claiming to be the ‘one true church’ like Mormons do. All protestant churches recognize their connection and past to the Catholic church, Restorationist Churches do not (like Mormons).
YPIOS = Your personal interpretation of Scripture.

I guess the problem is recognizing the wolves
Got it.
I love mayo..but the thought of adding the calories of mayo to the calories of fries is unthinkable to me..but I just might try it once :)
After leaving Mormonism, I now understand why so many of them lie about their beliefs....because they are down right embarrassing.

Exactly. They are very embarassing. And make ‘the Church’ (their real god) look bad.
My SIL just shakes her head when we discuss LDS beliefs. She can’t believe I ever fell for that, of course, I can’t either.
LOL
Younger Christians in the faith always will exhibit greater zeal. Older Christians should exercise greater wisdom and restraint.

These are in NO way mutually exclusive. We should ALWAYS be zealous for Christ, regardless of how long we have been in Him.
You should have been here Sunday for the Coq au Vin.
Tom Daniel thought he died and went to heaven.
And I came up with a red white and blue cobbler extraordinaire. (strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream)
