I'm not feeling the love here.

Let's detail the charges:
- I trashed the judgment, efforts, and character of other Freepers.
By the quotes, may I assume that I am neither temperate, prudent, nor just and my manner of posting is uncharitable?
I'm SURE that this description, "This is cloaked by an adopted attitude which might be articulated as "Extremism in the defense of MY view of the Gospel is no vice." could not possibly be applied to the views stated in your post, right?

Well, here I was paraphrasing what has been said to me. I don't think it's an extreme characterization for me to make if the people I am describing agree with the description (except for the 'my' part, of course).

As to the art work, it seems to me that each one of us judges the posts of others, one way or another. You are judging mine, and I yours. How else would we carry on a controversy?

But that is a very and importantly different thing from judging the person. You clearly think you have at least a right, and maybe even a duty, to respond to what you think I'm saying and doing. Does the art work pertain to you as well?

I would say it doesn't because, despite what I think is anger and an implied charge of hypocrisy, you are not judging me but what I said.

YMMV

Mormonism is something different altogether - The Pope has officially recognized this - but yet, Catholics (especially here on FR) are doing whatever they can to protect Mormons and their bastardization of Christianity. >

Most Catholics I've observed on these threads are protecting Mormons from the bastardization of Christianity only insofar as shielding them from those (and you know who you are) whose behavior toward them is unacceptable. They recognize the witness to be lacking.

Well, I’m always willing to learn.

Was your cob-web knocking done on-line or viva voce, real-time, and face to face?

Anyway, congrats!

Thanks, it’s been a strange trip. On-line and face to face.

While active, I had learned a couple of things that caused me to question the doctrine of mormonism. I went inactive for some years and in “engaging” some folks here on FR as a disruptor, I learned even more than I had thought possible.

Those same ones who I “engaged” here on FR have encouraged, helped, prayed for, and guided me on my journey out of mormonism. I also had some discussions with some folks at work and in Scouting that helped fill in some of the gaps for me as well.

One has to be willing/receptive to the message. One may not agree with the methods used to deliver it, but it’s the message that counts.

Most importantly, IMO, one has to humble themselves before God and accept that they are powerless, turn your life over to Him.

This is where Joseph Smith got his visions: the Amanita muscaria mushroom mixed with wine.

So THAT is why he was off in the woods ALL BY HIMSELF.

You got it. Besides when the prophet speaks the thinking has been done until the next prophet who supersedes the previous prophet as long as it is convenient.

They recognize the witness to be lacking.

That is the first truly accurate thing you have said.

Witnessing is a wholly different animal than defending the faith from slander and lies as well as going about the business of cult breaking.

Satan's grip has to be broken first by the exposure of false doctrine and the actions of the enablers of evil and the veil of those taken in by such ripped away before any try at witnessing can begin.

We are not talking about those simply seeking the truth, but those either willfully supporting the enterprises of the Evil One or those so taken in by their schemes that breaking free often requires extreme effort.

That you do not understand such is not surprising but of little consequence in the overall battles in the on going spiritual warfare we find ourselves in the midst of. That there are some modern American Christians who fail to understand that the call to defend the faith and attack evil in all its forms is as equally as important as is witnessing to the lost seekers is surprising as well.

“Mormon teachings and doctrines exclude them from the Body of Christ.”

Which is a nice way of telling me I am going to hell because I am a Mormon even though Jesus died for me, too.

But the mormons condemn me to a “lake of fire and brimstone, with the devil and his angels” because to them I’m a “traitor”. And they don’t do so in “a nice way”.

Didn’t “Jesus die for me too”?

Any thoughts or comments on that Sandy?

That is the first truly accurate thing you have said.

Why thank you. It must be the first time you've actually listened instead of stopping to marvel at your own remarks. I've not in the past few years ever commented, disagreed or agreed with yours or anyone else's theology. My comments have only been directed at those who don't seem to behave as they proclaim. For example, Elsie.

“Satan’s grip has to be broken first by the exposure of false doctrine and the actions of the enablers of evil and the veil of those taken in by such ripped away before any try at witnessing can begin.”

This reminds me of the time I invited my deaf friend to attend services at the Pentecostal Church of God (Kentwood Family Church) in Kent WA. All of a sudden all attention turned to my deaf friend and they were surrounding her, screaming, yelling, and demanding that Satan loose his grip on her. They were yelling “We rebuke you Satan; come out of her!!!” She was not possessed; she was, and remains, just deaf. She was humiliated, frightened, and confused.

At that point, I started wondering what the heck I was doing in a church like that. No offense to pentecostals. By the way, since becoming a Mormon,I have never witnessed any such horrible spectacle, not even close. Rather, members of the LDS Church tend to be loving, forgiving, accepting, and caring.

My point is that your point is not well taken by me since apparently it is directed to us evil devil-possessed Mormons you have read about endlessly on this very site.

I have said over and over again that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and I love Him with all my heart. He is my life saver.

But I am not believed. Instead, I am lectured about what posters THINK I believe and they absolutely refuse to believe me when I tell them what I believe. I have posted the LDS Articles of Faith which list the beliefs of my faith but to no avail.

And yes I have been offended and hurt by the horrible accusations and condemnations I and my Mormon friends have endured on this site. The reason I keep coming back (until it becomes hopelessly a waste of my time) is that I don’t want casual readers to leave with the idea that Mormons are really like what the anti Mormons post here.

Thank you.

So do we know that for sure or is it a specualation? We Inmams try to only post things that are backed up by the Mormon's own writings or historical facts.

The study is quite extensive. I would that everyone read it for their own conclusions.
