7 When you pray, dont babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Dont be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, --New Living Translation 7And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. [I Kings 18:25-29.] 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 9Pray, therefore, like this: 15But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [j]reckless and willful sins, [k]leaving them, letting them go, and [l]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. --Amplified Pray with Simplicity 5"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? 6"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. 7-13"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: 16-18"When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well. |

I gather that you assume I would care about what you think about what I think.
LOL.
Someone I respect a lot spoke very highly of you recently.
I’m finding that more and more mystifying.
Whereas I was, as a result of their comment, earnestly working to understand you more charitably.
So much for that short lived effort.
Calling something doctrines of demons is not warmth. Warmth of someone living close to hell perhaps
PRAISE GOD.
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD.
BLESSED BE THE WORD OF THE LORD.
BLESSED BE THE WAYS OF THE LORD.
BLESSED BE THOSE WHO LOVE THE LORD.
Thanks for your kind words and your excellent Scriptures.
INDEED:
To God be the glory, not man, never man!
I have known plenty of Catholics who have given their all for Jesus. This is the truth.
Perhaps for many this is something that they don’t—for whatever reason—put all out for reading on a public forum. There is no fault in that. To each his own.
And this all reminds me of St. Francis of Asissi:
“Preach the Gospel. If necessary, use words.”
So much of genuine spiritual life and growth is a mystery to others and that’s because Jesus alone knows our hearts, knows how wondrously we are made and certainly knows the best way to abide in us in a way that will bring forth the best fruit. He comes to us and gives to us as the unique individual creation of His that we are.
I spent many year visiting the sick and elderly in my parish. Hidden out of sight except for those who ministered to their needs, either medically or spiritually, they were certainly unknown to the world at large. These same people inspired me with the depth of their at-one-ness with the Lord and their absolute acceptance of the cross they were bearing and their humble trust in all God’s plans for them.
They were accomplishing the tending-of-the-fields that was assigned to them and doing it without notice and accolade.
I learned more from them than I learned from many who were “busy”, or held themselves as high examples or were self-appointed heralds.
Surely you understand this. We are all called according to the measure we are given. And some may very well be “giving all” and it is not recorded and noted by others.
The deeds God loves the most are those He alone has witnessed. Remember Nathaniel?
People who follow Christ usually are not popular.
I told you a long time ago that I am happy to pray for you(which I do) and not correspond to what you post me.
Everything is all about you, that's obvious
And thank you for your encouragements!
As I’ve demonstrated the Vatican Edifice is not any more united, homogeneous in doctrine &/or beliefs held and practiced by the mass of average Roman Catholics than is the mass of diverse Protestants.
Of course, I’m not surprised that a number of Roman Catholics et al ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to face or deal with that objective REALITY.
TRUTH IS WARMLY REDEMPTIVE
TO THOSE WHO WILL RECEIVE IT.
Even the truth of a scalpel.
You have demonstrated nothing. As usual you elevate yourself above the Martyrs who disagree with your modernism.
I THOROUGHLY AGREE with everything in your post.
I have observed such folks and their true God-focused spirituality as well.
PRAISE GOD FOR THAT.
Yes it is! Unfortunately you don't possess it
Have not been popular very often in my life until very late in my life.
God has been merciful in both states.
WRONG AGAIN.
God have mercy.
That ought to cause concern for you than.Anyone who even thinks He is popular is prideful and not practicing humility
Evidently you missed that post.
It merely cited facts about the Roman Catholic et al edifice—most of which have been inadvertently cited by Roman Catholics et al themselves hereon.
Your askew accusations of me at some point will have to be between you and The Lord. He knows the truth most emphatically.
Denial is not a river in Egypt.
I rebuke that falsehood in the Name of Jesus.
A root of bitterness usually clouds, distorts, obscures perception.
God has a solution for it.
. . . for those willing to change and be free of it.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
