7 When you pray, dont babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Dont be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, --New Living Translation 7And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. [I Kings 18:25-29.] 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 9Pray, therefore, like this: 15But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [j]reckless and willful sins, [k]leaving them, letting them go, and [l]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. --Amplified Pray with Simplicity 5"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? 6"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. 7-13"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: 16-18"When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well. |

If that's all it is, then how can Paul say that to profane it is to be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord?
Also, please explain to me why Christ would replace one set of symbols (the old covenant) with a new set of symbols?
He didn't. He replaced symbol with reality.
Now, using scripture, please explain how, instead of being risen and ascended, he is still on Earth.
Well, that's pretty easy, isn't it? He's God. God does neat stuff like causing his glorified, resurrected human nature to pass through doors, and causing it to be in more than one place at the same time.
Surely you can do better than a "village atheist" objection like that.
But since she sinned, then what would be the point of being immaculately conceived. It would be a waste of an immaculate conception then.
It would only be useful if she had never sinned and since Scripture tells us that all have sinned and fall short of Gods glory, and that Mary herself recognized her need for a Redeemer, then there is no way to presume that she didnt sin.
What do you think would happen to a Catholic who claimed that Mary sinned in her life?

INDEED TO THE MAX.
Thx.
Other than the line of Scripture, your post depicted a doctrine of man or demon.
The point of the supper is to remember Christ. He is not outlining a magical ceremony here.
By what supposition is a stigmata considered a good thing, let alone something from God?
That is so glaringly unscriptural as to be blasphemous. How can the RCC seriously say it wrote the Bible and teach doctrines that are so contrary to it?
Romans 6:9-10 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
Hebrews 7:26-28 Such a high priest meets our needone who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
Hebrews 9:24-27 For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
The Holy Spirit is our pledge of future glory.
II Corinthians 1:21-23 21Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Haha, absolutely! I agree 100%
I did read that Paul said, "Thrice I was beaten by rods." :o)
Well, then, the Catholic Church is remiss in not teaching its adherents properly, because there's a huge number of Catholics walking around Western NY who believe like I've stated. If they don't believe the RCC correctly, then their eternal destiny is at stake and just whose responsibility would that be if not the church which didn't teach them correctly?
What is a "Romeian"?
Plenty of people have made claims about the Catholic Church supposedly being invented by Constantine, etc. None of those claims withstand a simple examination of the facts.
For example, around AD 107, we have Ignatius of Antioch, who knew the Apostles personally, and knew Polycarp of Smyrna (another second generation disciple who learned his Christianity from the Apostle John), writing letters on his way to martyrdom.
In those letters, he calls the Eucharist the "medicine of immortality" and writes of heretics "who deny that the Eucharist is the flesh of Our Lord Jesus Christ". He says that it is better not to even speak of those men.
He also refers to himself as the "bishop of the Catholic Church in Syria".
Around 70 years later, around AD 180, we have Irenaeus of Lyons, a third generation disciple (disciple of Polycarp, who was a disciple of John), who wrote:
Since, however, it would be very tedious, in such a volume as this, to reckon up the successions of all the Churches, we do put to confusion all those who, in whatever manner, whether by an evil self-pleasing, by vainglory, or by blindness and perverse opinion, assemble in unauthorized meetings; [we do this, I say,] by indicating that tradition derived from the apostles, of the very great, the very ancient, and universally known Church founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul; as also [by pointing out] the faith preached to men, which comes down to our time by means of the successions of the bishops. For it is a matter of necessity that every Church should agree with this Church, on account of its preeminent authority, that is, the faithful everywhere, inasmuch as the tradition has been preserved continuously by those [faithful men] who exist everywhere. [Irenaeus, Against Heresies, 3.3.2
Giving Hinduism a run for its money, eh?
Who cares if they loved the Eucharist and Mary? if they didn’t love Christ, it’s all for nothing.
For what purpose?
Mystery Babylon has been playing a role all along - It's comeuppance is what is coming soon. Praise God!
LOL! Certainly.
Perhaps we should all pray to St. Earnhardt for the lifting of restrictor plate regulations (as we count our strings of chrome lug nuts..).
For it is written:
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

In fact, it would be hard to be more scriptural.
But let's be crystal clear: the "Eucharistic sacrifice" is one and the same sacrifice as Calvary. It is not a new sacrifice. It is not another sacrifice. Jesus does not suffer or die again.
Christ's sacrifice is eternally present to the Father in heaven. If you don't believe that, I suggest you reread Hebrews 9 and 10, particularly in light of the Yom Kippur narrative in Leviticus 16.
The sacrifice in Leviticus does not end with the death of the victim. None of the OT sacrifices do. The victim must be offered by the priest -- on Yom Kippur (and only then) the victim's blood is sprinkled in the Holy of Holies by the High Priest -- and, in many cases, the priest and the person for whom the sacrifice is offered must eat the sacrificial victim.
Hebrews makes it crystal clear that Christ is now in the heavenly Holy of Holies offering his blood to the Father on our behalf, so it's crystal clear that his sacrifice did not end on Calvary. (We don't even need to add that heaven is outside of time, and all moments are present eternally to God anyway.) This is why Christ appears in Revelation 5:6 as a Lamb standing "as though it had been slain".
It is precisely this sacrifice that is made present to us in the Mass. In the Mass we are -- spiritually -- at the foot of the cross, and in the heavenly Holy of Holies with Jesus the High Priest.
This is why Hebrews 13 has the interesting aside that "we have an altar from which those who serve the [Jewish] Tabernacle have no right to eat".
That automatically tells you two things: Christians offer a sacrifice (that's what an altar is, a table for sacrifice), and they eat of it.
I am pretty sure that was Talledega. : P
Alright... this is just too creepy...
The point being that one can dream up anything at all if the standard of the Bible is not applied... Hence sola-scriptura, and the notion that tradition must be made subservient to the Word.
I was using absurdity to accent Outership's statement:
[Outership:] An honest Biblical position can not be derived from what the Bible *doesnt* say.
Thank You Outership, for speaking an undeniable truth.
WHOOP! There it is.
Morning Consecration to Mary
My Queen, My Mother, I offer
myself entirely to thee. [I'm sure that Father, Son and Spirit are gleeful that you've got nothing left over for them.
And to show my devotion to thee, [Hmmmm . . . devoted husband . . . devoted wife . . . OK . . . however . . . how is it we read so many 10's of thousands of sentences about all this DEVOTION to Mary and so few about such DEVOTION to Christ, Father, Spirit?
I offer thee this day, my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my whole being without reserve. [WOW! HOW COULD IT BE ANY PLAINER??? There's OBVIOUSLY nothing left over for Father, Son, Spirit! DAILY, YET!]
.
Wherefore, good Mother, as I am thine own, keep me, guard me as thy property and possession. [Wellllllll, ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD, Sorry, yet again, there's nothing left over for you. Nor for your Only Begotten, Crucified Son. Nor for Holy Spirit. Maybe Mary will ask Joseph to donate a few of his HOLY SAINTLY toenail clippings to y'all as a consolation prize.]
Amen.
PRAISE GOD FOR THAT! There was MORE THAN ENOUGH blasphemy in that one!
Prayer to Our Lady of Czestochowa
O Mother of God, Immaculate Mary, to thee do I dedicate my body and soul, all my prayers and deeds, my joys and sufferings, all that I am an all that I have. [Yet again, Almighty God, Son, Spirit lose out on the hearts and minds distribution. Maybe if they are desperately hungry for fellowship and some cheap adoration, St Joseph would let them help him with the Heavenly laundry.]
With a joyful heart I surrender [Now just where is the Scripture about us surrendering ourselves to anyone but God?] myself to thy love. To thee will I devote my services of my own free will for the salvation of mankind, and for the help of the Holy Church whose Mother thou art. [And here I thought The Bible said that CHRIST WAS HEAD OF CHRIST'S BODY UNIVERSAL. I guess He hasn't gotten around to rewriting that part after Mary's Heavenly arrival.]
From now on my only desire is to do all things with thee, through thee, and for thee.
[SOOOOOOOOO, CHRIST WAS JOKING when He said, APART FROM !!!!ME!!!! YOU CAN DO NOTHING??? I guess He hasn't gotten around to that Scriptural rewrite, either.
I know I can accomplish nothing by my own strength, whereas thou can do everything that is the will of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
[That's a sweet milk-sop. Nice of them to stoop to such a bother!]
Thou are always victorious. [NOT GOD THE FATHER. NOT THE SON. NOT HOLY SPIRIT BUT . . . WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY UP IN THE SKY--SUPER-MARY!]
Grant, therefore, O Helper [NOT GOD, NOT THE SON, NOT THE SPIRIT--MARY'S TO GRANT. MARY'S TO BE THE HELPER. Holy Spirit can just cool HIS heels again.] of the Faithful, that my family, my parish, and my country might become in truth the Kingdom where thou reignest in the glorious presence God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima
Ahhhhhhh, yes. Gotta throw the UFO critter hoax in here to boost the goddess factor some more. What a surprise--not.
O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire [NOT BY INSPIRATION OF HOLY SPIRIT--NO! BY INSPIRATION OF SUPER-MARY! Holy Spirit can cool HIS feet again.] in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer.
Amen.
The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but, in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.
Yet again, Super Mary puts the Heavenly God-head and all the Heavenly hosts on vacation while she takes care of everything.
Quite a gig. I'm sure ST Joseph is quite impressed and all slobbery grovelly at her feet as well.

I think those are important points, Bro.
However, I do not think a great chunk of the Roman Catholic et al sheeple make the jump described below:
They recall the best qualities of their own mothers, or sometimes the lack thereof, and reflect, “Surely God is not less nurturing than a good mother!”
I don’t think a lot of them ever even think of THEREFORE, God is anything at all in the picture.
MARY is as far as they go in their fantasies, in their prayers, in their adorations . . . MUMMY’S LAP AND BOSOM is OBVIOUSLY QUITE sufficient, thank you very much. God and crew can go play harps somewhere.
