You got it!
Go with God.
Prayers that God will help you help us to help ourselves :)
My prayers and those of our community of faith are with you.
In the World Council of Churches document on Baptism, Eucharist & Ministry (available at http://www.oikoumene.org/fileadmin/files/wcc-main/documents/p2/FO1982_111_en.pdf ) I call to mind this section:
47. Candidates for the ordained ministry need appropriate preparation through study of scripture and theology, prayer and spirituality, and through acquaintance with the social and human realities of the contemporary world. In some situations, this preparation may take a form other than that of prolonged academic study. The period of training will be one in which the candidates call is tested, fostered and confirmed, or its understanding modified.
Which I find to be indeed an understatement. Your call will be surely tested by the ‘hoops’ your denomination places in your path to ‘jump through’ as one of my mentors once put it. Some will help foster this call - I urge you to seek them out as friends and mentors. Your call can only be really confirmed by the Holy Spirit - ‘Boards of Ordained Ministry’ and the like are only a weak substitute. Indeed, your understanding of your call WILL be modified, as God reveals his plans to you. Do not be discouraged by whatever PEOPLE say - listen to that ‘still, small voice’ and pray for help to discern your path.
Remember the words of the Saviour: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (John 15:16)
Years from now, despite what people may say, I ask you to look back and see the fruit. If it is plentiful and good, you will truly feel blessed.
Do good work friend. The world needs you.
Does this mean you have entered a Catholic seminary?
May GOD bless your ministry.
If God is still calling good people to do His work, hope is not lost. God bless you and thank you for heeding His call.
May God bless you as you seek to serve Him.
May you serve with the truth as pronounced by Christ at the Last Supper.
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve! To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears! Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus!
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
