Nifonging the Catholic Church
me ^ | April 18, 2010 | vanity

Posted on 04/18/2010 9:49:35 PM PDT by Judith Anne

I seriously wonder about some FReepers, sometimes. Any other person accused of a crime would be defended by every FReeper as being innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. I've seen whole threads written by men who have been accused of child abuse by ex-wives out to deny them their visitation rights or to wrest more money out of them. These men are rightly indignant, and furious about the unjust accusations that cannot be proven but are never withdrawn.

Yet where are those FReepers when a PRIEST is accused? Where is the presumption of innocence? Suddenly, every accusation becomes a verdict, and not only the accused but his entire organization and all its adherents are held responsible.

I can only wonder what some of these so-called conservatives (who so faithfully defend the Constitution) would do, if THEY were the ones accused! It is a nightmare for any man -- all of you know how even the accusation stains the man forever, even if it is proven false!

Not only that, many here assert that the problems of 30, 40 and even 50 years ago must be tried in the media TODAY!

Remember the Duke rape case? There are more similarities than differences here. The priests are accused, nifonged, and instead of being defended, they are vilified!

What other man of you could stand under the weight of such an accusation trumpeted by the press, and come out whole? None! And such accusations made, LONG after the statute of limitations has passed, sometimes even after the accused is dead and buried for YEARS -- are YOU one of those who automatically, reflexively, spitefully, and gleefully act as judge, jury, and executioner?

Women! What if it were YOUR HUSBAND, YOUR BROTHER, YOUR FATHER, YOUR UNCLE, YOUR SON who was accused? Wouldn't you want the best defense possible? Wouldn't YOU believe in their innocence? Wouldn't YOU help protect your loved ones as much as possible? And yet, YOU JUDGE THE CHURCH FOR DOING WHAT YOU WOULD DO?

Shame! Vast shame! On all who have sinned against the innocent!

There is the Eastern Orthodox Catrholic Churches, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Roman Catholic sects

There are many groups outside the Roman Catholic Church which are regarded as Catholic sects, such as the Community of the Lady of All Nations, the Palmarian Catholic Church, the Philippine Independent Church, the Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church, the Free Catholic Church, the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God, and others.

If you care to endure the invective, you can logically conclude that certain Caribbean and South American syncretists are Catholic. It gets ugly, though.

Indeed, that is why I quoted Romans 1. God will hold everyone to account for noticing that He is the Creator ex nihilo.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: - Romans 1:20

Are they still on this pathetic tangent? This has got to be one of the weakest reaching for straws I've witnessed.

The whole book of Ephesians is written to think of God in a triadic form.

The Father is the origin of all blessings we receive in Christ (1:3) including election (1:4) and predestination (1:5). The Son is the one in whom we have redemption (1:7) and he will head up all things (1:10). The Holy Spirit is the one who sealed us when we believe (1:13) and guarantees our inheritance (1:14).

Knowledge of the Father is through his Son by the Holy Spirit (1:17). The Son secured access to the Father through the Cross and this access is accomplished by the Spirit (2:18). We experience knowledge of the Father in reverse order, by the Spirit through the Son to the Father (3:5).

He tells the Church to be filled with the Spirit (5:18) so they might sing psalms to the Son (5:19) and give thanks for everything to the Father (5:20).

Christians are told to take up the armor of God which includes the one offensive weapon, the Spirit, which is the Word of God (6:17).

Paul describes the Church in trinitarian terms with Christ as the cornerstone and a dwelling place of the Father by the Spirit (2:20-22).

The capstone is when Paul describes the unity of the Trinity as the one Lord (Son), one Spirit, and one God and Father of all (4:4-6).

Enough of this nonsense. Let the Christian beware!

Revelation 8: 3 Another angel came and stood at the altar, 3 holding a gold censer. He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones, on the gold altar that was before the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God from the hand of the angel.

So every verse in Revelation is a metaphor which you can't explain except this one...This one is literal to you...

And then you completely refuse to acknowledge this one...

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Did God teach your magisterium this understanding or did your magisterium think it up all by itself???

I love that verse.

How anyone could read that verse and deny The Trinity . . . is beyond me.

Now, show us Scripture that teaches us that Mary was perpetually virgin, that she was immaculately conceived, that she ascended like Christ, and that she is ruler of hell (as in the prayer posted earlier), queen of heaven, Queen of Purgatory, mediatrix ,...

Salvation is through Christ alone, not membership in any denomination, especially one that uses those tactics.

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

ANOTHER inescapably Trinitarian Scripture.

Over all the decades with my Pentecostal Holiness uncle and others . . . I have never been able to wrap my mind around their slippery rubbery convoluted rationalizations around such Scriptures.

Are these RCs even aware they are exhibiting their almost total lack of knowledge of the Scriptures?

WHEN Scripture is soooooo far down the list compared to rosaries, plastic dash board figurines, pontifical pronouncements and prancings, magicsterical political power mongering and manipulations, white hankies and the like . . .

. . . small wonder that Scripture any longer plays any role, at all!

Or that she the “Dispensatrix of All Grace.”

That one reveals that the papacy believes Mary has not only displaced Jesus Christ; she has displaced God.

It’s mind boggling to ponder how on earth do they keep the relative ranks of all their ‘worshipfulnesses’ remotely straight? Or is it that when God is so diminished, relatively, it all becomes one super-ordinate prelate coctail party?

Have another horse’s ovary and pick today’s saint/prelate/sturcture/ritual/custom/dogma/personage/goddess to worship?

And does the work of the Holy Spirit?????

p46
9 - God loved Mary so much that He gave her the keys to His heart. ‘No one can go to God without Mary drawing him.’

- - -

INDEED. That one left my mouth agape when I first read it. I was quite firmly utterly shocked. God, The Father has made it very clear HIS ATTITUDE TOWARD HOLY SPIRIT and HOLY SPIRIT’S offices, operations, Priority when Christ talked about the unpardonable sin.

Sheesh.

I think that metmom has stumbled onto something that Protestants do not get. Peter has the keys to Heaven and Jesus still holds the keys to Hell. Salvation through His Church, and Jesus, the Judge, holds the keys to open the door of hell for those whom He damns.

If you ever decide to study the scriptures instead of your catechism, you'll find that the Kingdom of heaven is not Heaven...The Kingdom of Heaven is the physical kingdom on earth which will take place when Jesus reigns on earth as the King during the Millennium...This was offered to the Jews before Jesus was Crucified and then taken away til after the Tribulation...

And there is no lock on the door to this Kingdom...It doesn't need a physical key...The 'key' is the knowledge needed to enter this kingdom...It was given to Peter and the Apostles in the Gospels...It was rejected by the Jews...It will again be offered...

Alarmingly true.

Have begun to wonder it it could more accurately be called

THE WHITE HANKY SOCIETY or CULT.
