This is awful. Nuns gone wild. The AP reports:
Catholic nuns are urging Congress to pass President Barack Obama's health care plan, in an unusual public break with bishops who say it would subsidize abortion.
Some 60 leaders of religious orders representing 59,000 Catholic nuns Wednesday sent lawmakers a letter urging them to pass the Senate health care bill. It contains restrictions on abortion funding that the bishops say don't go far enough.
The letter says that "despite false claims to the contrary, the Senate bill will not provide taxpayer funding for elective abortions." The letter says the legislation also will help support pregnant women and "this is the real pro-life stance." More to come. Check back soon.
This kind of thing will almost certainly confuse many Catholics. Methinks the Dems have had this in their pocket for a while and are now attempting to create momentum. This comes on the heels of Catholic congressman Dale Kildee's official endorsement today and the Catholic Health Association endorsing Obamacare.
What really kills me is that the bill clearly funds abortion. Do they really think that if they lie openly enough and loudly enough that everyone will simply accept it.

This article-— and the AP source article -— doesn’t say who it is. LCWR?
I forwarded a link to this article to the Archdiocese of Galveston, stating it is urgent! I smell a D’rat on this one!
The Catholic Religious have bought into liberal fascim hook, line and sinker save for a few. Social Justice is their new religion mixed together with a sprinkling of Gaia Worship just to save the earth...
What’s next???
“Catholic Nuns declare Christ never really existed”.
Christians Rip Glenn Beck Over ‘Social Justice’ Slam
Right-Wing Host Conflates Christian ‘Social Justice’ With Nazism, Communism

Glenn Beck has stirred the pot again, but President Obama can rest easy for a few days because he was not the central target this time.
Backers of the concept of Christian “social justice,” however, were not so lucky. Beck compared it to communism and Nazism — and at least one religious leader is calling for Christians to stop watching the conservative broadcaster, radio host and best-selling author.
On his radio and television shows, Beck suggested any church promoting “social justice” or “economic justice” merely was using code words for Nazism and communism.
“I beg you look for the words social justice or economic justice on your church Web site,” he said. “If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. ... Am I advising people to leave their church? Yes! If they’re going to Jeremiah Wright’s church, yes!
(today’s nuns seem to be mainly well-behaved Marxist lesbian revolutionaries)
The average American has a good opinion of Nuns, and wouldn't think they would lie. Nuns weren't caught up in the sex scandals like Priests.
I support churches paying property taxes to fund gov't programs that churches demand from government.
OK if we get Obama Care then all those Catholic hospitals will have to close (as if so many haven’t closed already). For all its stances on abortion and other issues, the RC Church is rather socialistic in its attitudes such as labor, economy, immigration etc. I belive abortion is murder, but I think the RC church has gone awry in its socialistic attitudes on so many other things.
Mother Theresa must be rolling in her grave.
Lets see........they do not show the letter, do not tell which group these so called nuns belong to, who their leaders are....does not pass the smell test...sounds like a lie to me
BENEDICT XVI
The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing which the suffering person − every person − needs: namely, loving personal concern.
"We do not need a State which regulates and controls everything, but a State which, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, generously acknowledges and supports initiatives arising from the different social forces and combines spontaneity with closeness to those in need.
"In the end, the claim that just social structures would make works of charity superfluous masks a materialist conception of man: the mistaken notion that man can live by bread alone (Mt 4:4; cf. Dt 8:3) − a conviction that demeans man and ultimately disregards all that is specifically human. (Encyclical Deus Caritas Est, December 25, 2005, n. 28)
That's just a sample --- I could cut-and-paste pages, but that's not needed --- and these quotes are fully representative of the teaching of every Pope (you can click this) ---since +Pius IX, whose mid-19th century writings against socialism were contemporaneous with the publication of the works of Karl Marx.
It is not the Popes who should be faulted for not teaching, it is the U.S. Catholic Bishops who should be faulted for not teaching; and the efffectively-apostate religious orders faulted for not listening. (The U.S. bishops are notably negligent on a number of canonical duties, including Canon 915--- but that's a topic for another day!) (God save all sinners, including that unworthy meddlesome biddy known as Mrs. Don-o.)
Their problem, if I, though myself negligent, may sound a precise note of judgment here, is in their lack of fidelity to the teachings of the Church --- their failure to act like Catholics.
Are these real nuns or the angry radical feminist or lesbian type that don’t care about what the church stands for?
Communist Baloney Service (CBS News) is saying the same thing. This so-called "report" is notable primarily for its utter lack of specificity. WHO ARE these "some 60 leaders"? What order(s) or organsiation(s) thereof, if any, do they represent? What is the actual content of this supposed letter?
Inquiring minds want to know. Brainless dolts just lap up the MSM swill without a moment's critical thought.
Are these real nuns or the angry radical feminist or lesbian type that don’t care about what the church stands for?
I'm glad to see somebody else with his brain turned "on".
Names of the sisters please, so we can take action!
Good question.
