"We will serve you if you will get us free from the French."
Video at link.
You were the one that asked someone else to provide evidence that there were Christians in Haiti. I told you there were and that just because there was evil in a country that it didn’t mean there were no Christians there. I used China as an example. Your reply to me has nothing to do with my post to you.
We got Obama for president didn’t we.
The statement to which I replied said that there were ‘many’ Christians there. The evidence does not support that statement.
There are ‘some’ Christians there. There are some Christians everywhere. The mere presence of some Christians does not save a nation from anything that they deserve, and have brought on by their rejection of God. (Sodom, Gomorrah, Israel).
Who appointed you the judge of “error” in the first place? Which is my whole point. I have been accused of many things on this forum over the years. But in God's eyes, we are all equal. I could care less what you think.
I have seen things and been places you could not even dream of. I have also experienced first hand to hand combat in a real war, against my fellow man. It was then that I learned how and where to gather strength and faith at the very source. I no longer needed a vast amount of detail in order to believe. I made the choice in it's most simple form.
You are correct that you shall know them by their fruit. This refers to the end times when there will be large numbers of false Christians and hypocrites who will betray you. Seeing how they truly live and are will be the only safe way to have fellowship with them in the coming future.
This does not give you the right to become a judge however. Like I said before, this is merely how you interpret what is written. Mine and others will be somewhat different according to life's trials and tribulations.
You already assume much more about me than you will ever know. And this is where I will leave it. Above all else, take no offense from what I say. Only try to understand that there are other outlooks than your own and the truth is universal.
You said nothing on that island glorifies God. If there is ONE Christian in Haiti, they glorify God. Your post made it sound as if there were no Christians there.
“The mere presence of some Christians does not save a nation from anything that they deserve, and have brought on by their rejection of God.”
God is willing to spare a place where righteousness can be found. He found none in Sodom and Gommorah. Genesis 18:32 And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake. And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.
That is done by not watching his television show, not supporting his sponsors and supporters, and being vocal about WHY you are not supporting them.
Oh yeah, i forgot one other thing:
You preach against the nonsense that this guy preaches from your pulpit.
One of these days Pat Robinson will come to know Yah'shua !shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachHe needs to realize, he is a sinner just like all the rest of us.
At that point he will stop his self-rightous condemnation of others.
I have not been defensive or offensive.
I am not defensive because I have not taken anything personal even the personal insults that you gave. I am only debating a point with you.
No one appointed me to be the judge of error. The scripture is the judge of error. It isn’t my interpretation of anything. It is clearly written the the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. It isn’t perfect. Sin affected it. If you would like to tell me how that is misinterpretated I would be happy to listen.
Speaking the truth is not judgement. I didn’t feel judged because you said the universe is perfect and that I have misinterpreted scripture.
I haven’t been offensive to you. I haven’t called you a name. I have spoken the truth plain and simple. I assume nothing about you. You however assumed alot about me with your first post. I asked you to explain it and you changed the subject.
Frankly and not to offend you but you make no sense. Have a nice day.
I said “Until then I am finished with this rabbit trail.”
Oops somehow I always get sucked back in. LOL! My love of debate I guess.
You said it best....how true
You said it best....how true
Although I believe in Christian/Judeo ethics, I'm really getting to where I despise religion in general. Yes, I know that's a contradiction, but it has been the cause of so many unnecessary carnage...all in the name of something that may not even be real.
It's more than ethics, it's the Messiah of Israel, coming back here to earth to forcefully set up His Kingdom, over all the nations of the world. That's not a matter of ethics, but an all-out world-war that He's going to wage and kill all His opposition when He does it...
This last Christmas -- a lot of people were thinking about a cute little baby Jesus or a very nice man who said nice things to people, was uplifting, and healed a bunch of people...
What people really need to remember is that there's this "big bad Jewish fellow" out there, who's showing up soon, sorta unexpected, and he's "looking for bear" and is gonna open up "the biggest can of whoop-ass" you've ever seen in your life, on a bunch of people here on earth. LOL...
However, many fail to understand -- but they will "understand" when the Messiah of Israel returns to this earth, sets His feet on the soil of this globe, and sets up the ruling authority -- the one-world government -- that He puts into place over all nations, including the United States.
He's the Messiah of Israel, that He is coming back to earth, to set up a one-world government, with His headquarters in Jerusalem, ruling over all the nations of the world, including the United States and will rule over all who are still alive (from who are living right now today) -- and that He will definitely scrap the Constitution of the United States and make Himself the supreme ruler over all that we do.
The "day of reckoning" is coming for all of those who are trying to take over the world and put it totally under their control in an evil one-world empire. And they do admit that they want a one-world government -- their government, not God's...
When the Messiah of Israel comes back to this earth to set up His one-world government and subject all the nations of the world to His authority and rule -- He'll be making real short work of any of those yahoos...
And you can be sure that He will be utterly destroying anything to do with any of these yahoos, since whatever they say and do is a total perversion of anything to do with the Messiah of Israel.
And for sure -- we all, in this world, need the Messiah of Israel back, here on earth -- to destroy this coming one-world government and to install His own one-world government in its place.
I'm looking forward to the coming Kingdom on earth and the one-world government that the Messiah of Israel will be setting up, after He destroys, by His own hand, the present and evil one-world government that we see forming right now.
Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
However, Pat is talking about the consequences of sin. He is talking about a direct judgement from God for a certain sin (pact with the devil).
And there's more judgment to come, too...
Psalms Chapter 2 1 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 3 "Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us." 4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." 7 "I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.' " 10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
The stupidity is compounded by giving the atheist Left a new Two Minutes Hate talking point.
How does this turn people to Christ? It doesnt so Pat needs to just be quiet. So sad.
This nation is not in the process of turning to God and/or Christ. It's not in the process of repenting either. The nation is turning away from God and has been for quite a while. This nation is not of the mind to repent at all...
We can see quite a different attitude from years past, when we see how Abraham Lincoln addressed the nation in regards for national repentance.
Whereas the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the supreme authority and just government of Almighty God in all the affairs of men and of nations, has by a resolution requested the President to designate and set apart a day for national prayer and humiliation; and
Whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord;
And, insomuch as we know that by His divine law nations, like individuals, are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war which now desolates the land may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole people? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us.
It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power. to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.
Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do by this my proclamation designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting, and prayer. And I do hereby request all the people to abstain on that day from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite at their several places of public worship and their respective homes in keeping the day holy to the Lord and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.
All this being done in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the divine teachings that the united cry of the nation will be heard on high and answered with blessings no less than the pardon of our national sins and the restoration of our now divided and suffering country to its former happy condition of unity and peace. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.
Done at the city of Washington, this 30th day of March, A. D. 1863, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty-seventh.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
By the President:
WILLIAM H. SEWARD, Secretary of State .
This is a prophecy about when Jesus is ruling as King on the earth. What happened in Haiti is not a fulfillment of that prophecy.
I do not believe that God is judging the nation of Haiti right now. Their judgement is coming as is every nation on the earth. Until then He is calling us to go and make disciples.
That's correct, he does. He was (until he resigned his credentials in 1988 the day before he announced his presidential candidacy) a member of the Southern Baptist Convention.
However, Robertson DOES have an education:
BA Washington and Lee University, Magna Cum Laude
Batchelor Law, Yale University.
MDiv New York Theological Seminary.
While i have no use for the man or his theology, it would be wrong to imply that he's an ignorant hick.
