Doctors want us to be realistic about our illnesses, but I do think they cross the line in terms of telling us how long our lives will last. No one knows that except God. In that regard, I will pray for complete recovery for your father and for strength and courage for your mother. God is our Healer and our trust shall be in Him alone.
Holy God,
You are the God who heals. You are the Great God of the Universe for Whom nothing is too difficult. All disease must bow down before You. We commit Danae’s father to You in faith, and in complete agreement with Your Word that tells us that by the stripes of Jesus Christ, he has been healed. We hold fast to that Word and hold You in remembrance of it as we commit this man’s care, healing, and safekeeping to You. Grant strength and courage to Danae and her mother, and may they wait with patience for Your perfect healing to come. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We’ll be keeping your family in our prayers. May HE comfort you all, and give you the strength for this journey. God Bless you all!
Ahh...my heart breaks just reading about your parents. Your dad is going to be brave for all of you especially for your mom. That’s why he is laughing. I hope and pray he can and does do all the things he wanted to do and MORE. This is the time to come together to pray, recall fond memories...give thanks to him for all he has done for all of you, to look at old photos and just flat out remembger the good times and yes, make even these next days memorable together as a family. Write down notes, ask your dad to make a tape of things he can remember from years past about this or that or of his family and antics, etc. This time will allow all of the above to be done and just think how wonderful it will be for your mom when she is alone for her to hear and read and see all the things he did and you all did together. It won’t bring him back but...it will sure serve to bring a great deal of plesure seeing and remembering her husband and your dad when he was well.
God bless all of you and prayers up for all of you and mostly for your dad right now. Later moreso for your dear mom.

Thank you so much you guys and gals! I printed most of this thread out for him and gave it to him tonight! He was grateful that pure strangers would take the time to say a prayer for him and his family.

Dearest Jesus, just as You were moved by compassion for the multitudes, be once again so moved to heal this beloved brother and hearten his family. We know that all things are possible for those who love the Lord...and we ask humbly that our love and trust for You increase daily. Paul reminds us that,
"...it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."(Eph 2:8)
Mighty Father, I ask that through Your grace, this family be saved from the ravages of satan and his minions. This illness is a direct attack designed to weaken the faith of Your children. Heavenly Father, whatever is needed, whatever is required, I ask that Your will be fulfilled.
In Jesus' precious name I ask all these things...Amen
Prayers, Danae. I lost an uncle to lung cancer that metastasized to his liver. He lived the time he had remaining to its fullest right up until 2 weeks before he died.
