Hi Folks. I have never done this, so I ask your indulgence.
Just this morning I got the call we all dread. My father has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has metastasized to his brain. He has been given the typical 18 months to live. He is laughing if you can believe it, he isn't sad. We all go some time and he is looking at this as an opportunity to to use the excuse of doing all those things in life he wanted to do, but hadn't gotten to yet.
It's my Mom I worry about most. She will be with him through that whole journey, and then continue to walk on alone. So it is mostly for her, but really them both that I ask for your prayers for.
Thank you all. So much. From your lips and fingertips to Gods ears I pray. Amen.

Prayers up for your mom and dad, and for you, too.
Prayers for your courageous dad’s health and that he makes a full recovery. Prayer’s to your Mom, yourself and to the rest of your family.
Prayers up.
God Bless your Dad, Mom, you and the rest of your family. Please tell your Dad that we’re all praying for him and to keep the faith and that great attitude of his!
Oh no. That is horrible. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
My youngest uncle (53) was found to have stage 3.5 cancer that originated in the gall bladder. He went through the horrible treatments, had a rebound of health in time to see his son get married, and then the damn cancer came back.
He said cancer didn’t beat him, it just brought him home (to Heaven). He prepared a speech to be read at his memorial and he titled it “Why Me? I’m only 53.”. He went on to say what a journey the struggle with cancer was and how it brought him closer to God.
He never had any bad health habits. Lived a clean life. There is no rhyme or reason to it. His 3 children are doing remarkably well. Next month will mark 3 years since he passed. His oldest daughter is getting married this July. She is 21. His youngest daughter started college last fall. His mother, my grandmother, just turned 92 on Thursday.
One scripture that I found during the time of mourning for my uncle:
2 Corinthians 5:8
“Sorrow not, even as them who have no hope. For we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord.”
Peace
Prayers for your dad and your mom, and also for you. Lord we lift these people up for your peace and your courage, may it come to them in full measure. In Jesus name we pray.
Prayers for your father, you, and your family.
Prayers for your father, you, and your family.
We’ll be praying for your family in this difficult time!
May the LORD’s Grace and Love be with you
You and your loved ones will be in my prayers, Danae.
Prayers for your father and your family.
Absolutely you have our prayers. No one will ever care more for you than your Mom and Dad, and now’s your opportunity to return the favor. May God’s blessings shine upon all of you in this very tough time.
Oh, Danae. Of course you and your family have my prayers. Lord grant all of you all the strength you need to get through this.
I am very sorry to hear that about your dad. My dad died very suddenly in Aug. 2008 and my sister and I were very worried about my mother since my parents had been married for over 53 yrs. It has been difficult but your mom will push through because she knows your dad wouldnt want her to quit living. Give her as much support as possible. Ask her to tell you things about your dad that maybe you didnt know. I have found that if my mom talks about my dad and her when they first met or first were married that it puts a smile on her face. Faith in God and the love of her family will get her through this difficult time and beyond. My prayers are with you and your family - God Bless You
Prayers for all.
I lost my Mother a little over a year ago.
I am just now getting to the point where I can think about her without breaking down in tears.
Well almost.
God be with all of you.
May the Lord’s healing hand be upon your Dad, and may the Lord be glorified, no matter the way He leads.
HEALING CONFESSION
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Living Word. You said that Your Word is Life to those who find it and medicine to all their flesh. Today, by my confession, I apply Your Word to our body by giving voice to it. You said in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that Your works are marvelous. I declare that You made us and we are a marvelous creation.
I speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 that they must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus name.
I speak to our body today and declare that we have authority over it. I command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims that Jesus bore our sickness and took our infirmities. Heavenly Father, I thank You that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us and makes alive our mortal body.
I speak to our immune system and command it to line up with the Word of God. Our immune system will destroy sickness and disease in our body and perform its job, for this is what You created it to do. I thank You, Father, that every cell in our body responds to Your Word. Your Word permeates our body from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet. I confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in us. Psalm 103:3 declares that You, Father, forgave all our iniquities and healed all our diseases. Father, that is Your confession and I make it our confession also. We dont judge by the sight of our eyes; we judge by Your Living Word. It is Your Word that lives in us and brings health and healing to every part of our body.
Heavenly Father, we rejoice at Your promise of divine health. You said it and we believe it. Today I declare that we will see Your Promise of healing manifest in our body. Healing is ours because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved us that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that we could experience life on Gods terms. His abundant life is manifesting in us. Make us whole ~ body, soul, and spirit. Amen
Prayers for your family on the way...
Thank you so much!
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers! You have no idea how much it helps!
Dad is going to fight it I know now, radiation and Chemo. He is cheerful, and ready to fight. I am ready to help in any way I can, in no small part because of all the wonderful thoughts and prayers of all of you.
Thank you so much!
