"I have another. If we have the Bible, why the need for the catechism ?" You have most of a bible. Your fathers have decided to withhold certain books from you. However, the bible is the the first word product of the tradition of the Catholic Church, the Catechism is the second.

If we have the Bible, why the need for the catechism ? Why indeed. I wouldn't want to be the guy explaining to God why I was improving on His work. :)
