They're certainly no worse than the United Methodist Church. Last time I checked, Mormons had a better track record on the military and abortion.

I say this as a Catholic.

You were saying ...

We need to get him out of Congress.

Well, I know what you mean, but politics are one thing and a person's eternal destiny with the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob (of the Bible) is a completely different thing.

Of course, I'm only talking about a person's eternal destiny here and I'm not talking about how they live their life while still alive on this earth. That's a different matter. What happens after one dies is where these teachings will send you straight to the pit of hell (with the Mormon teachings).

Do not fear those that can only destroy the body, but fear the one that can destroy the body and soul. A Muslim can only kill me, but the teachings of the Mormons can do far, far worse.

Harry Reid is supposed to be a Mormon of some kind, but he's managing to send himself to Hell for eternity without reference to any theological underpinnings at all.

He's an LDS convert, not sure from what.

ELCA and LCMS churches are miles apart in many of their teachings. Please don’t group them together in your skepticism of the original post. ELCA churches are free to ordain gay and female people. LCMS churches do not.

You're talking about government, military affairs, politics and the like. That's not what I'm talking about.

The Mormon teachings will send a person straight to the pit of Hell, because they use the lies of the Devil and it will result in the literal damnation of that person who follows those teachings -- and straight to the lake of fire and their eternal damnation and eternal separation from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob of the Bible.

So, while you may be correct on the military and politics and stuff like that -- it makes absolutely no difference in a person's eternal destiny when it can end up in the lake of fire and be eternally separated from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

You were saying ...

I take it you're not a Calvinist. :-)

I like Dave Hunt's book on Calvinism. Ask the Calvinists about it... LOL...

It must be “attack a Mormon day” on FR.

I posted this in another thread:

“Let’s defeat a religion that is growing stronger and stronger in America day by day, and if successful, will cause the decline of our once great republic:

The religion of atheism.”

They do not....... kill people in the name of their faith.

###################

Oh yes they do. My ancestors were victims in the Mountain Meadow Massacre. I’m not a big LDS fan but have tried to be open-minded and read their literature. They are wrong.
Dead wrong. But that’s what they choose to believe. So be it.

Way back in the 18th century the Anglicans had all sorts of nasty things to say about the Methodists. For the most part they were untrue. Today that’s not so. The Anglicans were correct ~ just off target by a couple of hundred years.

Which church was it again that was ordaining homosexual clergy? (I’ll give you a hint, it starts with “Luth”).

No...it begins with Evangelical!

The real Lutherans (Missouri Synod et al) are very conservative and believe homosexuality is sinful.

Reid thinks he is a Christian of WHATEVER denomination?
This certainly does NOT fit with the teachings of Socialism, Communism or ISLAM!!!!!!!!!!
The hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. This man has sold his country down the river of hell already. It will take a nation to stop them all.

So, while you may be correct on the military and politics and stuff like that

Frankly, that IS what I care about. That my kids get to grow up. I can't be responsible for the souls of good men who protect our way of life. That's up to God. And I feel reasonably confident in saying God will be easier on most Mormons than he will be on scummy Islamists.

Since you appear to be the keeper of the gate, why don’t you show us the way instead of continually telling us which way not to go?

Directions would be more useful.

Friendships with muhammadans always end with a bang.
