The Symbols of an Alien Sky DVD is targeted at an academic audience including mainly those interested in ancient history, ancient religions, mythologies, comparative mythologies, or the genesis of mythalogical archetypes. It totally ignores any and all questions about religion other than for the question of astral religions and why ancient man basically worshipped planets and related cosmic objects. It also delves into the question of what if any relationship might exist between things which ancient people observed in the sky and phenomena normally observed in plasma physics laboratories.
For anybody with any interest at all in any of those topics, this is must viewing. It is also must viewing for anybody who has ever had any sort of an opinion one way or other regarding the controversies involving Immanuel Velikovsky or the catastrophism/uniformitarianism debates. Crevo-war freaks will be disappointed since the theory of evolution is not mentioned and, again, no modern religious topics are involved.
Those interested in the question of the human race having no more than three or four thousand years worth of recorded history while we are told that humans have been on the planet for upwards of a million years will find most of the answer here.

While yer there pick up “Mythscape: Remembering the End of the World” and “The Thunderbolts of the Gods” DVDs. They are grand.
interesting stuff, poked around their website until they started claiming volcanic arc were due to this electicity theory and not plate tectonics. They should have stuck with outerspace stuff that cannot be physically examined.

The DVD is worth the $30. Scholars who’ve spent their lives studying comparative mythology are turning flips over it.
