BE PREPARED TO WAR AS NEVER BEFORE !
The Joshua Chronicles | Jesus the author and finisher

Posted on 09/09/2009 1:20:32 PM PDT by Jedediah

Your going to see things move very quickly now for I AM aT the fronT of this battle against darkness and the taking back of my land .

Be prepared to war against the enemy as never before and remember the armor of Jericho for the walls of the enemies encampments Shall go down in great tumult amidst your war cries and the blast of the trumpet for you are my shofars of delight .

Now do my bidding and assault the fortresses of kerioth and lance all her rulers that " Lie " within her by the filling of my spirit and the washing of my water as my Blood( Testimony of Jesus Christ , Coals of fire from the throne ) touches their lips for it is a new and better covenant I vring to these nations(people)and Land .

Joshua 4:10-23

10 Now the priests who carried the ark remained standing in the middle of the Jordan until everything the LORD had commanded Joshua was done by the people, just as Moses had directed Joshua. The people hurried over, 11 and as soon as all of them had crossed, the ark of the LORD and the priests came to the other side while the people watched. 12 The men of Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over, armed, in front of the Israelites, as Moses had directed them. 13 About forty thousand armed for battle crossed over before the LORD to the plains of Jericho for war.

14 That day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they revered him all the days of his life, just as they had revered Moses.

15 Then the LORD said to Joshua, 16 "Command the priests carrying the ark of the Testimony to come up out of the Jordan."

17 So Joshua commanded the priests, "Come up out of the Jordan."

18 And the priests came up out of the river carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD. No sooner had they set their feet on the dry ground than the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and ran at flood stage as before.

19 On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho. 20 And Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken out of the Jordan. 21 He said to the Israelites, "In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, 'What do these stones mean?' 22 tell them, 'Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.' 23 For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea [a] when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.

***Oh, I think there are plenty of names and prosecutions. Google it if you’re interested. LOL.***

Not really. Just wondered if you knew.

***I’ve been a Christian for forty years, Mark.***

Good. The world needs more Christians.

***My faith is as deep as yours.***

I wonder how one measures faith. For example, one might say that this container holds one liter of water or that this distance is 137 mm. But how would one measure faith?

***I am filled with His Holy Spirit and I have the assurance of eternal life when I die and go to heaven.***

1 Corinthians 9:
23
All this I do for the sake of the gospel, so that I too may have a share in it.
24
8 Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win.
25
Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.
26
Thus I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing.
27
No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.

Paul recognizes that we are on the Via of Christ and there is the fear that one on the Via can leave it and therefore lose salvation.

***6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:***

Notice the qualifications.

The preceding verses speak of baptism in Christ. Qualification #1.

And we must not serve sin. Qualification #2.

If we remain in Christ, then we believe (!!!) that we shall live with Him. As long as the qualifications are met when we die.

Mark, I know the bonds of your church. I prefer the bonds of Christ. They really take no effort at all! All He requires is faith. All else follows!

Matthew 11: 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." ... -with love, Jesus

Romans 4: 13 It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. 14 For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, 15because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah's womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness." 23 The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. -with love, Paul

He is risen!

***Mark, I know the bonds of your church. I prefer the bonds of Christ.***

Actually, they are one and the same. A difference which makes no difference, is no difference.

***They really take no effort at all!***

The verse that you quote comes upon us in the context of the current Jewish rules and regulations. The NAB gives the following commentary:

16 [28] Who labor and are burdened: burdened by the law as expounded by the scribes and Pharisees (Matthew 23:4).

17 [29] In place of the yoke of the law, complicated by scribal interpretation, Jesus invites the burdened to take the yoke of obedience to his word, under which they will find rest; cf Jeremiah 6:16.

In this, Jesus promises that adherence to the Jewish law is burdonsome compared to what He is preaching. It is not that the laws or lack therefore of the Reformation and its spawn are less burdonsome; it is of His teaching and His Church.

Your Pauline verses testify to the power of faith and belief. They do not address the other aspects of Christian teaching, much of which is addressed in Pauline verses such as 2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear 7 before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive recompense, according to what he did in the body, whether good or evil.

and 1 Corinthians 9:23
All this I do for the sake of the gospel, so that I too may have a share in it.
24
8 Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win.
25
Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.
26
Thus I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing.
27
No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.

Paul is saying in your quote that it is by faith that we are saved and that is true to a point. One must have faith or one does not attain salvation; yet there are other points as well. For example, to journey by car, one must have the ignition key. Therefore one might say that the key is the prerequisite. Yet, one must also have gasoline. And a road map.

Grace may be said to be the key that starts the car, yet one must keep the car fuelled (by the Sacraments) and one must also keep on the Via (road) with the map provided by the Church of Jesus Christ on earth.

Nobody’s bashing Roman Catholics, FormerLib.

Well then, you're doing a mighty fine job of faking it, I just say.

Reformers have always tried to speak the truth to Catholics. I’m sorry if it looks like bashing to you. It’s not meant to be that.

The qualifications have already been met onthe cross, Mark. He died for our sins. When I received Him into my life, the qualifications were met for me and for anyone else who receives Christ. You don’t have to go through all manner of contortions to get there.

No, most of what is said is scriptural but since Catholics don’t always believe in that, it’s almost impossible to reach them.

You are referring to your own personal interpretation of Scripture and, no, I don't believe in your own personal interpretation of Scripture.

I can believe the Church founded by Christ or join a wife-swapping, geriatric-swindling cult in upstate New York. I'll stick with option A: the Catholic Church.

***The qualifications have already been met onthe cross, Mark. He died for our sins. ***

Exactly. But that does not give you a free pass. Matthew 25:
31
14 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne,
32
and all the nations 15 will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33
He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34
Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me,
36
naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’
37
Then the righteous 16 will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
38
When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
39
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’
40
And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’
41
17 Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42
For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
43
a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’
44
18 Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’
45
He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’
46
And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

If you point to Jesus at this moment and say that Jesus is to be Judged instead of you, He (the Judge) will tell you that the Judge does not Judge himself; nor does He Judge you by His actions. This passage alone shows that you are the accused, not Him. How will you fare?

***When I received Him into my life, the qualifications were met for me and for anyone else who receives Christ. You don’t have to go through all manner of contortions to get there.***

Jesus does not Judge you based on what He did. Romans 2:
15
They show that the demands of the law are written in their hearts, 6 while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even defend them
16
on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge people’s hidden works through Christ Jesus.

Judge all men based upon their works. Where is your doctrine now?

You may cross out my words and delete my quotes from Scripture, but all that does it to highlight the inadequacy of the solas and show them to be unScriptural and unChristian.

You have offered to pray for my soul and I gratefully accepted. Please allow me to return the gift.

Mary, Pete has nothing to offer but his feeble attempts at humor. markbs is stuck in the law, and can't see his way out. The truth will make it through the dust...

Shake it from your feet. There are some forces who wish to keep things the way they are... and bondage to the Mosaid law is their requirement! The Roman Catholics prefer bondage to freedom, and want to keep others in their misery. So, be girded...

Ephesians 6: 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Don't forget the beads and light a candle or two, please! I didn't need any when I prayed for you... but my faith is in Jesus!

Mark, continue in your piety and penance... it's not going to help you in the end, no matter how much your priests promise! Mine is also my brother! He wouldn't, nay, couldn't lie!
