No, I just believe that others as well as the CAtholic Church have erred at certain times in their history.

If you don’t mind, what church DO you attend?

you're Presbyterian right? I wouldn't say "scandalous" because that's a matter of perception (oohh,,, you showed your ankles, SCANDALOUS), so the priest was wrong to say that. A sect, yes, I would say that

but, if the priest really wanted to convince you he should not have use the adjective "scandalous", that would wrong of him and also quite incorrect (as I gave an example above, all of us can be equally scandalous to anyone else). Secondly, why exactly did he bring up the Presbyterians? None of the sermons at Masses I've attended ever bother to criticise a non-Catholic groups as a whole, maybe they'd say "be aware of the JW's who come to your door with sweet words." or "that Presbyterian building next door is leaking water into our compound, scandalous", but anything else, no.
