The patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world Friday the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant, perhaps the world's most prized archaeological and spiritual artifact, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.
Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries."
The announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome. Pauolos will reportedly be accompanied by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo D'Acosta.
Jeremiah 3:16 points to a time when the Ark will vanish not only physically, but from the minds of the people: "And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more."
The Book of Revelation says the Ark is in the temple of God in heaven (Rev. 11:19). Muslim scholars say it will be found near the end of times by the Mahdi a messianic figure in Islam
hey dont you think the pope would attempt to seize it if it did exist? i once read years ago about jews bringing it back to Israel on a special flight rigged with special equipment so as not to break the requirements for carrying it.
uh, about this mahdi....i found it interesting that when i studied world religion....other religions had “messiah” figures too that seemed to fit the description of the antichrist more than they did christ. i about choked on my dinner when i walked into a hari krishna temple and there was this charismatic looking figure riding on a white horse.
You make a good point about God’s power no longer
in the ark. Had not considered that. Missler
thinks the ark could be in the Great Pyramid.
It's not newsworthy to those who've declared God "dead".
There has been talk about rebuilding the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, where the ARK was kept in the Holy of Holies. Now this should really give us who believe in the End-Times prophecies in the Bible something to contemplate. For the Abomination of Desolation to happen, the Temple would have to be rebuilt, right? Well there is serious talk of it now. News story from 5/26/09 Raad Salah: Netanyahu will Try to Rebuild the Jewish Temple
They left off the rest of the priest’s statement:
“And you can all see it all for only $19.95. That’s right- only $19.95 Act now, and you can recieve our 2-for-1 special. Cash and credit card only. Call today.”

And the sign-off ...
“I’m Crazy Mahdi, and my prices are INSAAAAAAANE !!!”
“Muslim scholars say it will be found near the end of times by the Mahdi a messianic figure in Islam”
Muslim doctrine is so backwards.
Snakes. Why’d it have to be snakes?
“...a sample of manna, the mysterious food that kept the Israelites alive while wandering in the wilderness during their journey to the promised land.”
Quick, invest in Interstate Bakeries Corporation. Manna can be none other than TWINKIES! After all, their website states: “Twinkies are the stuff of legends - President Clinton put one in a time capsule - and have achieved the status of cultural icon”

Not to worry.... Whoraldo will be present live for the unveiling....
‘Ark of the Covenant’ about to be unveiled (Friday June 26th at 2p.m Italian time)

Now..., anyone wanna bet that it’s *not* going to be revealed... ?? LOL...
I’m betting on it..., myself, to not be revealed...
It’s just too bad that I don’t have very much money to bet, or else I think I could make a killing off that bet... :-)
2 Samuel 6
6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
All the elements in that scene were part of a painting, except for the crate supposedly containing the Ark.
Since the Italians occupied Ethiopia from 1936 to 1941, I wonder why the Ark wasn't revealed at that time.
Okay, TaraP, you said — The Ark of the Covenant is the sacred container of the Ten Commandments as well as Aarons rod and a sample of manna, the mysterious food that kept the Israelites alive while wandering in the wilderness during their journey to the promised land.

Now, I know it was a real thing. I do know that it was there in Israel. And I sorta believe it’s going to show up again, although I don’t have anything Biblical to that effect. So, that’s sort of a risky pronouncement, on my part, that I think it’s going to show up again - sometime in the future. In other words, I’m only *guessing* that it’s going to show up again.
I would welcome someone showing me that the Bible says it’s actually going to show up again (and I’m not talking about the original one in Heaven, that the earthly one was based on... :-) ...).
And so, you know that anything I say about it here has nothing to do with disbelieving the Bible and/or what God says about *any* of these things, no matter what it is that He says.
I just don’t think He says anything about it and I don’t believe that this event is going to show us anything...
I think this is all *bogus* and it’s going to get us nowhere... (my opinion, of course, since the Bible doesn’t speak to this specific issue...).
Don’t blame me - I didn’t eat it...
Will the 'Ark of the Covenant' be returned to the Sanhedrin ?shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
Be sure it comes with a certificate of authenticity.
