Well, y’all, when I see any system of theology or teaching or preaching that *denies* the word of God — in reference to Israel — in saying that Israel has been rejected as a nation before Him, and that the church has taken the place of Israel — then I don’t have to listen to all the other false things that this teaching or “doctrine of demons” may be perpetrating.

Once you see this “theology” engaging in the “lie of Satan” — you don’t need to listen to any of it. It’s no more than the absolute lie of Satan, in regards to Israel. Can anything that is the “lie of Satan” produce “good fruit”? No..., it can’t produce good fruit.

Hmmm. My mom left the Roman Church when I was eight. The teachings of that church had nearly no influence on my life (the devout side of my family died when I was very young).

If anything, the only influence that the Papist Church has had on my life recently has been to take time away from my eschatology arguments to argue against their teachings ;^).

As I'm sure you know, I'm a Reformed believer, as is my cohort - as you call topcat54 - on these threads. That would make us a couple of the more historically steeped PROTESTants, IOW protesters of the Apostate Church of Rome.

I'm fairly sure I speak accurately when I say both topcat54 and I are advocates of "embracing the divide" between the Roman church and Protestant (especially Reformed) Christianity. There can be no ecumenicism between us until/unless that church reforms.

Sorry, but your discerner may need tuning. The flavors of the Apostate Roman Church choke me, more in sorrow than in anger.

The Job and John references you have given about Satan are prior to the Crucifixion. Therefore, they would be dismissed by the Amillennialists as being descriptive of the situation prior to Satan being bound.

However, the other two references are telling. Peter, for instance is writing after the Crucifixion during a time when some on this forum contend Satan was bound.

"8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world."

BTW: Everybody in this discussion should be opening their Bibles and sticking their noses in Revelation. It is one of the only books whose reading and hearing provide a promised blessing! Fortunately, for all of us, that promise doesn't seem to be contingent on your personal interpretation of Revelation 20. :)
