Theological Roots Of Anti-Semitism In The Church
Anti-Semitism (hatred of Jews) has it's root in both classical pagan and medieval western society. Much of the anti-Semitism present in western society can be directly traced to erroneous Christian doctrine taught both in the early and medieval Church. The root of anti-Semitism is "rebellion against the Lord's unchanging prophetic plan for Israel, the Church and the nations". Our coming Messiah rules in the hearts of His covenant people in the gentle bonds of agape love. He will return to this earth to save His people in His glorious deliverance of Jerusalem at the Battle of Armageddon. At His Second Coming He will destroy the wicked and He will judge the nations. In the Millennium to come He will sit upon the Throne of David as the anointed Messiah/Christ. He will restore this sin-sick earth and the cosmos to the harmony and beauty the Old Testament poets saw. The people and the ecosystems will rejoice in that day. His glorious Millennial Kingdom will last one thousand years. (Rev.20) The spirit of Belial, (or rebellion), hates His coming rule with a passion. (Psalm 2) The reason is quite obvious. The return of Messiah will terminate the present gentile/heathen/goyim rulership. The current misrule of the angelic principalities and powers of this present world system will come to an end. Evil angels do their secret work. They pull the strings of depraved and lawless men. This is why the gentiles,(or nations), rage as we approach the end of this age. (Ps.2) The gentiles, (or nations), are identified in holy scripture as 'the heathen'. They are referred to by our Jewish brethren as 'the goyim'). Those among the gentiles who accept Messiah come into the covenants and the commonwealth of Israel by grace through faith. (Eph.2:12:13) The coming Christ or Messiah is the 'Son of David'. He is "the Lion of Judah". The hostility and the raging of depraved men is directed at the Jewish Gate of Judah. So essential anti-Semitism not "irrational" or "crazy" at all. There is a reason for it. And that reason is quite clear from our knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. This rebellious world system and its hierarchies hate and loathe the Throne of David! Messiah/Christ will rule over the nations from this throne. He will rule in the Millennial Age to come. The dark powers fear and dread His coming rule. It is this hateful loathing of the Throne of David and the rejection of YHVH/God's coming righteous rule under Messiah that is the quintessential spiritual origin of all anti-Semitism.
The above statement was taken from "The Root of Anti-Semitism" by Gavin Finley MD. It is referenced below. This posting is designed as an excellent reference for those who would desire to explore the dark history of Satan's deception within the Body of Messiah (Christ).

Balony. Name on doctrine espoused by any credible Christian father or theologian that teaches people to be “anti-semitic”. ‘Love thy neighbor as thyself’ applies to Jews and Gentiles.
My beeber is stuned.
Running from your old thread, eh, so you can now lob falsehood at Christians on another thread? What a swell guy you are.
Read the references!
Please take some time to read the references!

This is really the best way for me to approach my topic. The short summary forces one to read the reference to draw any conclusion. That of course is my aim. A little literacy never hurt anyone!
I did. And I don’t think the references make a strong case either. The references basically say that many Christians are anti- semicitic because of the following reasons:
1. “Blood Libel”- This is false. I dont know of any writing or sermon anywhere which says Jews can be mistreated because their ancestors crucified Christ. Christ’s sacrfifice was because of sin. All sin. Christ was the Lamb of God for both Jew and Gentile.
2. Escahtology- Amillinialism does not teach distrust or hatred of Jews. Ever heard of Chiristian Identity(or British Israelism types)? They are futurists and express blatant hatred and vitriol against both Jews and the State of Isreal. Classic Amillianialism teaches that Christ will retun in glory for the judgment of the quick and the dead. Your view is of a political kingdom. Thats your belief. But those of us who are looking towards the spiriutal kingdom are not anti-semites.
3. You need to google Martin Luther sermon re: tares and wheat. Luther’s rant was in contradiction to his own sermons regarding how to treat unbeleivers. He was not anti-semite. His frustration with Jews who continued to reject Christ led to an ugly essay which has been discussed here before. It is not considered to be great theological work, It is openly condemned by the Lutheran church.
Thanks for your reply. I will look into it.
OK what is next, are my eyes to be opened for your next thread?
You get to think about it for a while. Enjoy!
Oh the little fox is out swinging his long furry tail.
Of course this is not to deny that there is genuine anti-Semitism in the world and throughout history. There certainly has, it is to be opposed. One author asks, "What is the origin of anti-Semitism?" In the case of genuine anti-Semitism the answer is quite simple sin a heart darkened by the effect of the Fall upon all mankind.
But there is also a sort of fictional anti-Semitism invented by those of a particular eschatological persuasion who simply like to use the word as a club to beat up on folks who question or oppose their theology. It is an irrational claim of anti-Semitism where none really exists. The people they like to label do not hate Jews, they simply disagree with the hermeneutics and interpretations advanced by the labelers. The labelers think that any attack on their faulty ideas is anti-Semitism. Pure hubris!
So the thesis of a theological (i.e., Christian) basis for anti-Semitism is largely unsupported and owes itself mainly to the eschatological predilections of a certain sects within the Church.
These essays are no more substantial in their treatment than Hal Lindseys abysmal rant The Road to Holocaust.
What is the Catholic League?"Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular. Its not a secret, OK? And Im not afraid to say it. Thats why they hate this movie. Its about Jesus Christ, and its about truth. Its about the messiah.
Hollywood likes anal sex. They like to see the public square without nativity scenes. I like families. I like children. They like abortions. I believe in traditional values and restraint. They believe in libertinism. We have nothing in common."
- Bill Dononue, Scarborough County, MSNBC, December 8, 2007
Which is the greater sin unto the Heavenly Father ‘anti-Semitism’ or being against Christ.... Old Testament and New Testament? Christ is in the Old Testament from the Beginning even unto the end, and there is only one ‘path’ from Genesis to Revelation.
I realize you are not answering questions anywhere else, so let me ask one here.
Do you believe that a person is an anti-Semite if they simply deny that the prophecies of the Old Testament predict a future, unique eschatological place for national Israel?
Hi there,
Glad to see that you are enjoying my latest entry. Keep reading!
Bump to that question.
