LDS vs FLDS. Just for the record...

Some Mormon women sing...

Some Mormon women dance...

Some Mormon women write scary stories...

Some Mormon women have a lot of money and really great hair...

I know hundreds of Mormon women. They do all kinds of different things and live all different kinds of lives.

This woman served as a leader in the Mormon church. She recently spoke to teenage girls worldwide. She encouraged them to stand up to peer pressure, strengthen their families and serve others. (Click here for more.)

None of the Mormon women I know look like this...

None of them are marrying off their teenage daughters and-- although some may joke about wanting a sister-wife (preferably one who is really fat & ugly, does bathrooms and changes diapers)--none of them really want to share their husband with anyone.

Furthermore...

Some Mormon guys can throw a ball...

Some Mormon guys yell at the ball...

Some Mormon guys make scary movies...

Some Mormon guys have a lot of money and really great hair...

I know hundreds of Mormon guys. They do all kinds of different things and live all kinds of different lives.

This is one of the leaders of the Mormon church. Last Sunday he spoke about honoring women, especially mothers, and gave advice to husbands and children about how to treat the women in their lives. (For the whole story, click here.)

None of the Mormon men I know look like this...

The Mormon men I know are honest and hard-working. They don't cheat, smoke, drink or gamble. And TRUST ME....the last thing any of them want is another wife.

[Can you speak for every Mormon and say they want what the FLDS cult had?]

If they believe their own sacred books like they say they do, then yes, polygamy is ingrained in Joseph Smith and he wrote the doctrines the LDS live by (and Brigham Young, another polygamist abuser).

>>”The lds and flds have the same founders, and use the same scriptures. The only difference is the level of faithfulness to the original doctrine.”<<

Using your definition above, couldn't you honestly say that Lutherans and Catholics have the same founders? I wonder which of those two are “LESS ASHAMED OF” their prophet?

Just wondering.......

While this is a true statement of many contemporary Mormons, let it known that they are at odds with official Mormon doctrine and church-sanctioned temple ritual practices.

No WONDER!

Since NONE of the Temple Rituals® can even be FOUND in ANY of their 'scripture', they must be some of the SMART ones!

And when they find out that the 'rituals' are a mish-mash of Masonic and other WORLDLY practices, they are on their way to be a...

The ones who have, according to the new LDS president, "been offended, are too cheap to pay tithing, are desiring to drink, smoke and fornicate, or those who otherwise are "unworthy" and stay away in shame.

Welcome to Mormonism 101

We'll begin in a minute.

In the mean time, you may enjoy the art that is on our walls.

You may think some of our doctrine a bit shifty; but if you study it real close in one area, it will be quite steady.

Please ignore any shifting you THINK you observe elsewhere, for if you look at THAT area; it, too, will become fixed.

Elsie, your the king of graphics!

Brilliant word picture on 149!!!

(I had to do a double take in evaluating what I was seeing...shiftiness when looking @ the entire picture; deceptive steadiness when zeroing in on just one area...I would hope folks keep that in mind when they give some surfacy "high fives" to the supposed "conservative traditional heritage" of mainstream Mormonism...because polygamy was practiced by fundamentalist Mormons in leadership positions of the mainstream Mormon church well before any fLDS break-off "sect" ever existed!...And polygamy is not traditional conservative Christianity--and never was).

Red herring. As of this writing, I am still a mormon, but not for long (my choice, not theirs).

The plain and simple fact is you don't find either catholics OR lutherans covering up and attempting to hide portions of Moses's, Abraham's or Christ's words and acts. THE LDS does this with regard to Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and others. The FLDS is LESS ASHAMED OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE CHURCH. The Kinderhook plates are just one example of where the "prophet's" own words damn him.

Created and buried by pastors of another church in an attempt to test the prophetic power of Joseph Smith, the kinderhook plates were allowed to be discovered by early church members and were delivered to Joseph Smith. About these he stated:
"I have translated a portion of them and find they contain the history of the person with whom they were found. He was a descendant of Ham, through the loins of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and that he received his kingdom from the Ruler of heaven and earth."-History of the Church vol. 5, p. 372.

Unfortunately for him the protestant creators of the invented symbols and plates made two identical copies of them in the presence of many witnesses to prove to the world that Smith is a Liar and a cheat.

In spite of his own words in hundreds of thousands of copies of the "history of the church", the leadership now claims he never translated them, or that the put him into a trance and he deciphered a message from God while looking at them, separate from the writing itself.

The entire book of Abraham which he claimed to have translated from papyrus rolls which included a circular drawing which he included in the book, was blown completely out of the water with the discovery of the Rosetta stone. The symbol in the Pearl of great price is actually from an Egyptian "Book Of Breathings", kind of like an ancient version of a "have a great death" hallmark card.

You can play all the mental gymnastics in your head you wish to, but I read ALL the founders words.

Christians have no need to be ashamed of things said and done by real prophets. Joseph Smith prophesied the return of Christ in 1890 (source-church history, his own words) among the DOZENS of other bad prophesies. Moses never missed ONE.

I dare you you look for yourself into the church history and proved that I have lied about a single thing. Use their books to prove me wrong ! It should be easy, because I am ignorant and a liar (claims from other threads), right ?

My prayers are with you. You will have much to sort out. There are many on these threads who have been there and will help in any way we can. Drop me a note, anytime.

I’m just pinging a few of those Freepers who I know were LDS at one time.

We have all been in that unbelievable state where little doubts creep in and one is afraid to open another door for fear of finding more of the fraud. It is a fraud, a huge fraud. The big shots and apologists in the powerful positions also must know it is a fraud, however they have such power over the little people and are truly enjoying the ascension they have coveted all their lives. I really feel sorry for those who take it all on faith alone and actually believe those who tell them not to investigate or seek other truths.

Good luck kind sir. You have strong support here and we'll watch your back as well!

I have to believe that many in powerful mormon positions....have extreme stress over that very status. Because they have learned that mormonism is a cult.

One one hand...if they expose the lies, they potentially lose their jobs, their public perch, and probably many of their family.

On the other hand...if they stay quiet, they have that weight of knowing beyond a doubt that mormonism is horribly wrong, and a deception. But they fear they may lose what they hold dear........

It's a BIG deal when you've been born into something...rose to some importance...live/work/play amongst other of like-mind...And then figure out that it's all a lie.

I pray for them.....

No different than COMMUNISTS in Eastern Europe who risk their lives to escape it's grasp!

And at that very instant, one must exercise the courage of their convictions. That is why Sentinel makes me so proud.
