In this work Hagee beautifully weaves strands of incompetence with cords of error to create a tapestry of Judeolatry. This book contains almost as many errors as it does pages. Due to space limitations I will only briefly list some of them. It is necessary, however, to survey evidence of his biblical and historical incompetence to demonstrate how his theological error is simply the conclusion of that incompetence. This will show how dangerous he is as an influence in the Church.
...
In conclusion, this book should have a label on it warning the readers: Contains doctrine that is hazardous to your spiritual health. He at least could have titled it Leave Behind, as a suggestion as to what we should do with it.

Yet I can't look away.
Ping to read later
And if Hagee is accurately quoted, this book makes Hagee look even worse than he already does.
I know nothing about John Hagee.
However, Romans 11:25 is a golden verse that unlocks an understanding of God’s present and future plans for Israel.
"For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. "
What does that verse mean and how is it the "golden verse that unlocks" our understanding of the future of Israel?
“I think Hagee is right and I could vote for him for President.” — mountainlyons
“I know nothing about John Hagee.” — fishtank
Obvioualy someone needs to work on his name recognition if you want him for President.
Anyone who read Hagee’s book “Jerusalem Countdown” (or tried to read it - it’s also horrible) shouldn’t be surprised at this. I used to like him when I would stumble on his show occasionaly, his preaching seemed sound, but once I read his nonsensical “dual-covenant” theology I lost all interest.
The "review" pretty clearly takes rhetorical questions out of context ~ sorry, all you have to do is watch a couple of Hagee sermons to understand his speaking style ~ he follows a very precise standard.
What you've done is discover another anti-semitic site targeted at Hagee, or whoever.
I'm just waiting until this guy discovers the Pope is rehabilitating Martin Luther.
That's not exactly a popular position is it.
Because it is not a Biblical position
“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.”
“You praise me with your lips but your hearts are far from me. You have traded the precepts of God for the commandments of men.”
Christians like to point to the completed work of Christ ("It is finished") - what work did Christ complete? He fulfilled the Law and the Prophets. That is why the veil of the Temple became torn at His death - to show that the Temple in Jerusalem was no longer the site of the Presence.
The Temple and its sacrifices had been fulfilled by Jesus' perfect and eternal sacrifice.
The Epistle To The Hebrews is essentially a lengthy disquisition on this doctrine.
To assert - as Hagee seems to - that Jesus' perfect and eternal sacrifice does not really apply to the Jews at the moment - undermines Scriptural doctrine.
In some cases that is clear, which is why the tone of the review initially rubbed me completely the wrong way. The charge of "Judeolatry" is disgusting and unjustified, and the very word reeks of the sulphur of anti-Semitism.

The site seems to be mostly anti-Dispensationalism, although as I pointed out, the author's tone seems darker than that.

Heh heh.
He doggone near took an entire book out of context.
Hagee can't be all bad with enemies like these.
Church history reveals that Christians and Jews didn't differentiate themselves as such (the way we do) in the First and Second century. At some point there seems to have been a separation however.
I've always found it useful to think of Judaism as simply another blend of the same religious tradition, albeit one interrupted in its development by Bar Kochba and his attempt to resurrect Judea as an independent state.
