They're called the "Lost Boys," the teenagers kicked out of their homes and communities by leaders of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to ensure there's an ample supply of single, young women who will one day become plural wives. Representative Lorie Fowlke (R-Orem), is running a bill to make this abandonment a felony.
"Estimates are that we've had more than 1,000 children - primarily in southern Utah - thrown out of their homes," Fowlke says. "What we were trying to do with this bill is criminalize this behavior and send a message to this community that they can't just throw away their children."
H.B. 23 adds child abandonment to the definition of child abuse, and makes it a felony crime. It also adds an enhancement if a parent or organization benefits from the child's abandonment to further an illegal enterprise, such as polygamy. This is the case with the FLDS church, says Roger Hoole, a lawyer who represents some of the displaced young men and sits on the board for the Utah Association for Justice. He says the church benefits from kicking out young men who would compete for plural wives. This, he says, has devastating consequences.
"There's a huge impact that's coming, like a tsunami, that's going to hit the state of Utah, when these boys get a little older and realize what has happened to them and get angry," Hoole says. "There's a real problem here."
Fowlke's bill gained unanimous support in a Senate committee this morning, and now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
Which Mormon church has it correct? Why should we accept that the one you claim is more right than the one which is topic of this thread?

That is a spectacular question....I would go further...is there any Christian Church which has everything right?...or one could also ask, “What do invidiual Christian Churches have right, and what do they have wrong?
These are questions I have been asking myself especially since reading some of the different religious threads on this religion forum, simply because there are so many different churches, all with their own viewpoints, and their own theology and dogma...and very strong, and often very nasty disagreements, among those of varying Christian churches...
So what is the LDS view?

I will say this...you do not have the authority to decide which religion is or it not Christian...God has that authority, He alone is the judge, He alone will decide who is and who is not a Christian...you have only the authority to decide which church you wish to belong to, and make the best of it that you can...

Yep...this is the "attack" (as you refer to it when others claim that your religion is incorrect) that started your religion that I was referring to.
I know that Mormon's allege that the messenger was the Lord but c'mon, we are going on the testimony of a known fraud, here (not an attack just a historical fact - Smith was brought to court on defrauding persons with his "seeing stone" and he tried to pass off an Egyptian funeral document as proof of his ancient Egyptian language.
His claim as a prophet lacks certain credibility.
So...How do us non-Mormons get to be saved Christians, lady lawyer?
What is salvation and how do we obtain it?

What ‘truth’ you seek to proclaim, is merely the ‘truth’ as you personally happen to see it...lurkers and other posters will of course, take that for what it is worth...and may vehemently disagree with you...
Many lurkers remain lurkers, simply because they do fear going into the fray, and do want to be set upon, by others telling them that they can be ‘Christian’ if and only if, they come up to some other posters personal standards of what determines who is and who is not a Christian...

Fortunately most people dont pay one bit of attention to you and your ideas, and find them quite ridiculous and that is most reassuring...

That is just laughable...most of the Christian world disagrees completely with your twisted interpretation....aside from the Christian Scientists, who refuse medical help, and Jehovahs Witnesses who refuse blood transfusions and a few independent churches here and there, Christians do use doctors, modern medicine, and modern medical technology....everyone else in the world is wrong, and you are right...very funny...none of the other Christian religions, have any idea what you are talking about..Catholics, Lutherans, Calvinists, Baptists, Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbyterians, etc. etc. etc. dont have ministers or priests who stand up in the pulpit and tell their parishioners that they are condemned if they use doctors or modern medicine....
None of the Biblical Scriptures you have posted have in any way, show that people are condemned for using doctors or modern medicine...all you have is your own twisted personal interpretation and nothing more...now, try again, to convince me, and all other Christians, that the Bible condemns people who use doctors and modern medicine...so far, you have failed to provide any evidence at all that the Bible makes such claims...the Scriptures you posted do not prove your point...you have failed...
