No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus

Words and Music by C.F. Weigle

Chorus
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There’s no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.
I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus,
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true.
I would tell you how He changed my life completely;
He did something no other friend could do.

Chorus
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There’s no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.
All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me;
All my heart was full of misery and woe,
Jesus placed His strong arms about me
And He led me in the way I ought to go.

Chorus
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There’s no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.
Ev’ry day He comes to me with new assurance;
More and more I understand His word of love.
But I’ll never know just why He came to save me,
Till someday I see His blessed face above.

Chorus
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There’s no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.

Joseph Smith takes care of you?

How did you get that falsehood from our teachings?

Thanks for including the part about the only group of people that God has under the care of the Prophet Joesph Smith.

Could you find the references as to who God has caring for the people of other dispensations.

Thanks

Thanks for putting in red a reminder from the Bible that their will be FALSE messengers from God after the close of the bible.

You are quite welcome.

~”So ... Mormons claim that mainstream Christianity has diverged from the gospel of Christ ... while Christians claim that Mormonism is a divergence from the gospel of Christ.

So who’s right ? “~

Yeah, that about sums it up.

That’s why we still need revelation. Go ask God who’s right. I did, so I’m sticking with the Mormons.

~"One who uses the smear “hater” "cultist" in nearly every post against nearly every response reveals much of their own character."~

There, fixed it for you.

Tell me, what would you call "one who hates?" It certainly isn't the love of Christ that the anti-Mormons are displaying.

See, you’re jumping to conclusions, PM. We don’t know where such councils are, or that there even are such councils. We don’t know where the premortal existence was. These things haven’t been revealed, so we don’t know. You are reading things into our beliefs that aren’t there.

~”And if “the Gods began to be”, does that mean that God has not always been God?”~

Depends, I suppose. If time started with the creation of the universe, and God’s divinity predates the creation of the universe, then God has been God since before the beginning of time, and is therefore eternal.

It starts getting pretty sticky at that level, and we don’t have a clear understanding. God hasn’t revealed all the answers to us.

That’s why I prefer to stick with trying to understand faith, repentance, and the Atonement in my doctrinal studies. Plenty of work left to do there.

What amazes me is the anti-Mormon’s fascination with such triviality when all the while, on the most important things - such as the Grace of Christ - we have many, many points of agreement.

We keep -doing- that. And you keep ignoring it and posting them out of context.

Pretty soon, we get to the point where we realize it would be insane to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

If you try on ebay you might be able to get an older copy of the Methodist hymnal.

I had gotten one from the late 1800’s I bought from a used book store. and there were many hymns you don’t hear in the mainstream anymore.

I have a Casio key board and some of them you can down load song from the computer and even write music to be up load on the computer.

Another interesting site on the Computer is

http://www.byutv.org/streaming/

I use the Moved Network so I can select what I want to watch.

Enjoy your wonderful gift I am sure you might be able to find those hymns on the internet.

Go read it yourself. You might even find it interesting, particularly when compared with the original.

See, you’re jumping to conclusions, PM.

No, I was asking questions. I don't need to jump to conclusions. I know what the LDS Church taught when I was a member, I'm just trying to see whether or not it is still taught, or whether or not you are disavowing all the things that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young (who stated that everything he taught from the pulpit was the equivalent of scripture) taught.

It starts getting pretty sticky at that level, and we don’t have a clear understanding. God hasn’t revealed all the answers to us.

I think Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and Orson Pratt and Joseph Fielding Smith and Bruce McConkie have all been pretty clear on the subject.

Were they all teaching false doctrine?

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 132

  51–57, Emma Smith is counseled (commanded) to be faithful and true; 58–66, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.

  51 Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to aprove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice.
  52 And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, areceive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God.
  53 For I am the Lord thy God, and ye shall obey my voice; and I give unto my servant Joseph that he shall be made ruler over many things; for he hath been afaithful over a few things, and from henceforth I will strengthen him.
  54 And I command mine handmaid, Emma Smith, to abide and acleave unto my servant Joseph, and to none else. But if she will not abide this commandment she shall be bdestroyed, saith the Lord; for I am the Lord thy God, and will destroy her if she abide not in my law.
  55 But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.
  56 And again, verily I say, let mine handmaid aforgive my servant Joseph his trespasses; and then shall she be forgiven her trespasses, wherein she has trespassed against me; and I, the Lord thy God, will bless her, and multiply her, and make her heart to brejoice

Whatever HAPPENED to Emma???

Eliza was a devout Mormon. At age 38, she became Joseph Smith's 14th plural wife (in addition to Smith's lawful wife, Emma). In 1842, after learning Eliza was pregnant, Emma Smith beat Eliza with a broomstick and knocked her down a flight of stairs, causing Eliza to miscarry Smith's baby.

Wow!!

I guess ol' Emma got VAPORIZED by GOD!!!

We know that multiply him thing sure didn't work out!

~”Nice try, but your ‘retranslated’ is a farsical term given that the only thing Smith had when he tried to rewrite the Bible to fabricate prophecies of his ‘coming in these latter days’ was his peepstone divination rock. Smith had no Greek or Hebrew or even Latin texts such as the modern real translators use.”~

Hence the term “revelation.”

You know, what prophets do when God wants to speak to the earth?

As far as I’m aware, Smith was no longer using the seer stone by the time he worked on the Bible. He’d already learned enough about how to follow the Holy Spirit that he didn’t need it.

I also invite the reader of this thread....

But; you MUST do it with a 'sincere heart'.

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 9

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to Oliver Cowdery, at Harmony, Pennsylvania, April 1829. HC 1: 37–38. Oliver is admonished to be patient, and is urged to be content to write, for the time being, at the dictation of the translator, rather than to attempt to translate. 1–6, Other ancient records are yet to be translated; 7–14, The Book of Mormon is translated by study and by spiritual confirmation.

1 Behold, I say unto you, my son, that because you did not translate according to that which you desired of me, and did commence again to write for my servant, Joseph Smith, Jun., even so I would that ye should continue until you have finished this record, which I have entrusted unto him.
2 And then, behold, other records have I, that I will give unto you power that you may assist to translate.
3 Be patient, my son, for it is wisdom in me, and it is not expedient that you should translate at this present time.
4 Behold, the work which you are called to do is to write for my servant Joseph.
5 And, behold, it is because that you did not continue as you commenced, when you began to translate, that I have taken away this privilege from you.
6 Do not murmur, my son, for it is wisdom in me that I have dealt with you after this manner.
7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.
8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must cask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.
10 Now, if you had known this you could have translated; nevertheless, it is not expedient that you should translate now.
11 Behold, it was expedient when you commenced; but you feared, and the time is past, and it is not expedient now;
12 For, do you not behold that I have given unto my servant Joseph sufficient strength, whereby it is made up? And neither of you have I condemned.
13 Do this thing which I have commanded you, and you shall prosper. Be faithful, and yield to no temptation.
14 Stand fast in the work wherewith I have called you, and a hair of your head shall not be lost, and you shall be lifted up at the last day. Amen.

Go ask God who’s right.

Too bad. You could have just read the Book.

Acts 17:11
Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

No, I was asking questions. I don't need to jump to conclusions. I know what the LDS Church taught when I was a member,

In name only in your teen age years there are things I have read in the past of things you think was taught reveals you processed things through the natural man's filters.

People can be born in the Church but they still need to gain a testimony personal testimony by the power of the Holy Ghost elsewise they continue to process through the world filters.

Many will try to deny this but it is self evident No, I was asking questions. I don't need to jump to conclusions. I know what the LDS Church taught when I was a member,
