The problem is that the church only allows unmarried men to become Priests.

If the Church would allow Priests to marry, more men who are not homosexual would go into the Priesthood.

The problem is NOT that the Church only allows unmarried men to become Priests. The problem is homosexual infiltration of the Church.

Government has a vastly bigger problem with government teacher abuse of children, 2,500 per year! The abuse is covered up through confidential employee records.

Can't believe the Church never thought of this! How stupid of them! How obvious!

I've recommended the same thing to the Public School system. If only they would let married people become teachers, there wouldn't be such a widespread problem with sexual abuse.

Silly public schools and their archaic rule of celibacy.

....allow Priests to marry....

Oh, great!
Then we could have dating Priests, divorced Priests, philandering Priests, what a solution!

Tell me again how we could get the homosexual Priests out of the Priesthood?

There is the same prevalence of married protestant preacher-perpetrators as there is “celibate” priest perps. The basic issue is fidelity to vows, not celibacy.

No, that's not the reason. It's because the Church in the 50's, 60's and 70's were a refuge for the latent homosexual.

The closet was still pretty much shut and homosexuality was considered shameful and a grievous sin, becoming a priest was a way to suppress those feelings, though the structure and authority of the Church.

There are also theories that the Church was purposely infiltrated by radical homosexuals to redefine and undermine the church, but that is for another discussion

As a side note the church should allow men to marry as a priest, simply because the original church had no requirement of it's leadership

Ignorance is bliss. 21 of the 22 Churches sui juris that comprise the Catholic Church ordain married men.

If the Church would allow Priests to marry, more men who are not homosexual would go into the Priesthood.

A specious, at best, argument. You need to spend some time reading the following:

Sexual Abuse of Children By Protestant Ministers

**If the Church would allow Priests to marry, more men who are not homosexual would go into the Priesthood.**

I hate to tell you but even in Protestant churches with married clergy there are pedophile problems.

And how about the public schools where many teachers are married and still there is a problem of sexual abuse of students.

This is NOT a problem of celibacy.
