Knock it off now. You’re all very close to a suspension.

One last time - ALL the conversation about CREED to OMM.

I realize that in an extended conversation with many folks joining in, it may be a bit hard to remember just WHO was speaking of about what thing, so here is what I found...

I keep asking people to pray, here is a good one, how many of the orthodox Christians out there have actually prayed about the Nicene Creed?

GBood Question!!

I keep asking people to pray, here is a good one, how many of the LDS organization members out there have actually prayed about the Nicene Creed?

Actually, I have. That is one of the reasons I am still happily in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Good; for perhaps you can show me just what is so ABOMINABLE about that creed:

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

It appears to be some sort of document defining the nature of God in language that is not clear nor is it intended to be clear.

Why don’t you read it yourself, as well as its associated creeds, and pray about them. They are NOT scripture, under your definition.

Your founder stated publically that the creeds were an ABOMINATION.

I merely want YOU to tell us, publically, just what is so ABOMINABLE about them.

That may be your problem, passing judgement on my faith for no reason.

He did NOT 'pass judgement' on YOUR faith, for NO reason.

He did have quite valid points about the FOUNDING of the organization; whose writings you believe.

Ya still working up an answer for us about that ABOMINATION thing?

You are so knowledgeable, go ahead and cite it.

It is obvious, from your non-response, that you don't want to tackle this theological question.

That's ok; I'll not press you any farther, but know this: if you are going to challenge others on THEIR posting of Scripture - you've now left a trail showing your ignorance of it.

YOU were citing a creed to which I do not subscribe, and then berating both me and the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You never cited any scripture in support of this “creed”. It is your “creed”, not mine. Defend it if you can!

Sorry, OMM; that's not how it works.

You see, you are defending Mormonism.

I am showing the FOUNDATION of it all: that Joseph Smith claims that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and said, "Their creeds are an ABOMINATION to me!"

That statement is what the entire LDS organization is built upon.

ANYONE who tries to support and defend that organization should know, at the very least, WHY it came into existance.

Therefore, I ask you one more time...

What is so ABOMINABLE in that creed??

For me, it is the attitude of those that wave around a false creed and demand that I subscribe to it to be a Christian. Thou hypocrite!

One: No one 'demanded' ANYTHING from you; especially me!

Two: Just WHERE is the hypocracy?

I merely asked you to state what you think is wrong with the creed, and you are acting like I've pissed in your Wheaties®!

being of one substance with the Father;
Where does it say that in the scriptures?

Will THIS suffice?

John 10:31-33

31. Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,

32. but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

33. "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."

So your creed is based upon Jesus’ enemies claims? Where did JESUS ever claim to be GOD?

What’s so bad in that creed; IN YOUR HUMBLE OPINION?

I doubt very much that he would lie about that. I do not doubt that you cannot find sufficient scriptural backup for your creed so that you must resort to childish name calling. Go and consult with your preacher, he may give you some better names to call us. Go attack islam or something else you don’t know about.

I gave you Scripture; just like you asked.

You dismissed them as irrelevant.

Jewish religious scholars; whose life was possible becaused they knew the law inside and out, knew EXACTLY what Jesus was claiming.

In your superior knowledge, you claim they didn't know what they were talking about.

About as many times as you're asked: what is wrong with the creed?

Should I ask instead: "What is so ABOMINABLE with being of one substance with the Father?"
