JERUSALEM - In a case that would seem unthinkable in the Jewish state, police said Sunday they have cracked a cell of young Israeli neo-Nazis accused in a string of attacks on foreign workers, religious Jews, drug addicts and gays.
Eight immigrants from the former Soviet Union have been arrested in recent days in connection with at least 15 attacks, and a ninth fled the country, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said, in the first such known cell to be discovered in Israel.

How long did these people expect to last in a Jewish state?

The socialist establishment of Israel has knowingly brought non-Jews (perhaps hundreds of thousands) to Israel to combat the demographic emergence of religious Jews.
Organizations bringing immigrants to Israel frequently get money per capita with few questions asked.
This has also lead to a demand for instant conversions to Judaism with few questions asked.

Those are most often non-Jews or pseudo-jewish (had some jewish grandfathers) Russians or Ukranians who were brought to Israel after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Israel (and also Germany) favor and let in a huge number of ex-Soviets who are Jews (often fake) on paper only.

Israel (and also Germany) favor and let in a huge number of ex-Soviets who are Jews (often fake) on paper only. There are a****les like this all over the planet. No one country, religion or culture is exempt from them. There IS no "filter" for people like these. It doesn't matter how "fake" or "on paper" people SAY they are, MOST of them are young, angry, disenfranchised (whatever that is) a****les.
It's my GUESS (and it's only a guess) that they learned their reactions to the vissitudes of life from people in their family.
I also wouldn't be surprised if drugs had their place with these men.
There is NO excuse for these men. Blaming their Soviet background, religion (fake, pseudo, whatever) or upbringing is no excuse. They knew it was a crime to be neo-nazis in Israel and they still did it.
Crime=time.
If they broke the law in CHINA, they COULD be put to death. (As in the executive who was executed for fraud.)

I am of the same background, i.e. my parents were secular Soviet Jews - and I can tell you that the wave of Soviet emigration (and immigration) that followed USSR collapse in the early 90s is often referred by older generations of Soviet emigres as "salami wave" - basically people who left primarily for economic reasons, their motivation was not political struggle against the (already decayed) Soviet system or seeking freedom of religious expression. But in the late 80s, early 90s a lot of people "played the flute" of religious and political repression to get out of crumbling USSR, often inventing or exaggerating any incidents of antisemitism or repression they may have suffered. In the 1970s and 1980s emigrating from the USSR took a struggle against the system and being intimidated and ostracized before they let you leave, often with nothing but a change of clothes. See
refuseniks People who left from 1989 onward often had a very different motivation and values. If you had any Jewish ancestry, something that was better to hide before 1989 - now people were "digging" up their "lost roots" if only that would get them out faster. Not suprising at all. I know the ex-Soviet immigrant communities both in Israel and USA rather well.

I know. But how did they expect to get away with this in a Jewish state? Does that sound remotely rational to you? They must be just plain nuts.

Yes, you are all right of course. I never said anything contradictional... at least I’m not aware of.
I just wanted to stress that those idiots aren’t jewish and that the title “Israeli Neo-Nazis”, wile technically correct is misleading.

I was just reading this on AOL News. Some of the comments underneath the article are unbelievable, including this one:
Israel is a beggar nation and no friend of the USA. Israel is one of the reasons the USA was attacked on 9/11.

Nothing new here. I’ve been exposed to comments like that ever since I began to read news articles on the web.

I also think that neo-nazis, by definition, are sick puppies and do NOT represent a nation, culture or religion, even if they are German, Austrian, Catholic, Christian or whatever.
I wasn't contradicting you either, or correcting you, and if it seemed that way, my apologies. I was merely adding on to the conversation.
